I watched every second of it! Thank you!! New spinner.
This is such a great video! I love how you explained each detail along the way. Answered my questions as they arose. Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I'm really happy you found it helpful.
The bingo card is such a great idea. I think I may try to work out how to use that myself. Thanks for sharing your goals with us! Merry Christmas 🤶
Should this become a craft-along for the year? I'm feeling the urge to start a Ravelry thread about this, where we all share our bingo cards and update progress throughout the year. What do you think?
@@DeHartHouse I think that would be an awesome idea!
I'm excited to see your finished sweater. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much
Knit Picks Wish List- there is always something there! Now it is Felici sock yarn because next year I want to knit a pair of socks every month because, well, just because! I love wearing wool socks every day even living in South Carolina in the summer. Wool socks are so comfortable. Thanks son much for your wonderful podcast. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Awesome sauce. Thank you for sharing this tutorial ❤️
Happy december Alicia, your little mittens look soooo cute !
I love your broken seed stitch cardigan. It's so pretty!
Hi Alicia! Glad the storm didn’t damage your home but sorry about the power outage. Looking forward to following your vlogmas.
Hi Nancy! I hope the weather is mild in Texas these days. I remember a bad ice storm sweeping through some areas and wreaking havoc a few years ago.
I wash my sponges and scrubbies on the top rack of the dishwasher and they hold up great.
@@jojobren4915 I'll have to give that a try. Thanks!
Thank you for the tip on the neckline. My contrast yarn has silk, too.
Any tips on how to make this into a rectangle?
I know a lot of you like music behind the video. I don't because it's hard to learn the pattern or understand the pattern due to listening to music.
To avoid an anxiety before cutting your own cloth - you can zig-zag stitch it just before the cut. Lifesaver when cutting curves. Your towels turned out perfect.
I am loving the two color, broken seed stitch! I am definitely going to look into making something with that. Thank you for all of your inspiration.
Great video! I learned such a lot. Thank you. Beautiful colours!
Whoa your going waaayyy to fast you lost me
I was so pleased to see this your tutorial. I have so much yarn, which I love. I have gotten older and suffer from severe neuropathy which make it hard to crochet or knit. Then I too realized I could enlarge the Grandmas favorite dishcloth pattern, the only pattern I’ve recently found comfortable knitting. Thank you for taking the time to to put this together.
I love your two color fall sweater. I was just waiting to hear what the pattern was called so I could go look it up on Ravelry, then you said you created it yourself! Beautiful!
@@shaunastitches Luckily the broken seed stitch pattern is super easy and is working up well on a raglan. So you could adapt a pattern you already own 😀
@@DeHartHouse I do have the So Faded pattern already too!
Hope you’re better soon, Alicia, and happy early birthday! ❤🎉
@@nancymorales2741 Thank you!
❤good video❤
This was exactly what I was looking for thank you!!! It's my first time knitting a baby blanket and I had no idea that you had to decrease and then how to do that and also work with the yarn over stitch that I have been using. Super grateful for your detail!!! Especially the part of when to decide when to decrease and laying the blanket flat and measuring!!
I love these kitchen towels! Amazing....
Do you have to use a loom to weave with? I've seen people using a wooden frame. Would that work?
Ugg, I hate it when my stuff doesn’t fit. Sending hugs your way. That is so frustrating. Your tee with your handspun is really looking awesome. I knit mainly socks and shawls because I struggle with garments. I think periodically blocking is a good idea. I may have to try that.
Beautiful blanket but music makes your video unwatchable.
@@bonniewilliams3266 Sorry about that. These days I use music to fill the non-speaking portions of videos rather than having it continue throughout.
Hii, I'm enjoying your channel so much! Just watched your spinning video with the huge "roving" skeins from Hobby Lobby and it was such a pretty result!! I have a similar large scale spinning project I want to finish this summer, I started it like a year ago already.. Finally got one huge skein done plying with 3-ply, but now I'm back on the singles. Where in the PNW are you?? I lived in Bellevue for a while and went to school at UW. I heard you mention a two-year college, I actually started at Bellevue College! I have so much respect and appreciation for those professors <3 Now I'm out here in warm Georgia, so not a lot of wearing knitted garments outside anymore, but luckily my husband likes the house cooler than me, so I get to wear them at home haha Hope it all goes well for your summer knitting plans and your mom's procedure as well!!! <3
Love this trial. Hope they did wear well. Just a thought re the bind off. I like to bind off toe up socks with a very stretchy bind off. I don’t use larger needles. I just follow these instructions…… Bind off……. P1, (slip stitch back onto left needle, P 2 together) to end of row. It makes a super definition firm edge
Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! I used Baby Bernat baby blanket yarn in a pink/lavender/white colorway and followed your instructions. To avoid "pooling," I switched to another skein (same color) after one row across and back again. I followed along with your way of finishing the blanket, starting when there are seven stitches remaining in order to not mess up the yarnovers. It worked great! Bobbie 😍
This was super interesting to watch - thank you so much! I loved seeing the whole process and your finished yarn came out gorgeous. :)
This was so inspiring to check my own yarn stash - and what should I say? I think I will never be allowed to buy new yarn again 😅 I used the export function of my Ravelry's stash, which includes all bits and bobs. Summed up, Here are my stats: 547.31 skeins, 141113.5 yards (roughly 80 miles), 42079 grams (roughly 92.6 pounds). I have to check my average yarn consumption throughout the past years to make sure I'm able yet to use my yarn in this lifespan 😂
That is an impressive stash! I forgot that Ravelry can help track yarn too. I'm not ready to start thinking about how to use it all, but it was fun to get the numbers. Thanks for sharing!
Caron one pound is listed as Aran not worsted weight. That may be part of your gage problem.
Mr Knightly is so cute. I have learned with colorwork socks that I need to go up to size 2 needles for the colorwork part, turn the sock inside out so the floats are traveling around the outside. This means you are knitting on the back needle. Also check out ladderback jacquard method of managing your floats. This method makes your floats more stretchy. I have finished a sweater that the sleeves are too big around. I need to frog and reknit them. I know your frustration.
I'd love to do this to my stash at some point but it feel very daunting at the moment.
Honestly, I spent a month convincing myself the work would be worth it. I had to clean up the space a bit before I could access everything. In the end, it was worth it just to tidy up and see old yarns again.
Thanks for sharing. I love spreadsheets. I made one for my paper crafting stash and..... wow! It's a lot. I always say I have enough craft supplies as I am adding more to my cart. LOL My yarn stash is significantly smaller so I don't track it yet. This video has made me want to make one now. Happy crafting!!!!
How did the woolen yarn stand up for socks over time? I would have chosen worsted prep and worsted spin for a yarn that would be more durable.
Interesting ❤tyfs
I just hit some of that jumbo yarn today and I’m gonna do the same on my new nano2. Yours was beautiful. Hope mine comes out the same bc I’m rusty spinning and on an electric is a whole nother story but I think I can do it. I prefer fingering weight too Mayb dk. I thinks it’s probably bc I want the fiber to make many yards.
I got that exact yarn yesterday at HL for the purposeof spinning it... unfortunately it was NOT on clearance
Hi, I’m curious why you just don’t knit 2 together for the decrease and leave it at that? Is there a reason you K2tog, yo, then k2tog again? Is it just to keep it looking similar to the increase rows?
That's right. The extra Yo and K2tog keeps the decreased edge looking similar to the increased edge.
I just want to say thank u for my favorite baby blanket and the country side I've made them for the unwed mothers in my area😊
Thank you for sharing this! I also have an electric Eel Wheel from Nano 2. I also just subscribed 😊
Wonderful work and I hope that you feel better now
I have done this! The giber is great...
So fun! And I'm glad you're feeling better now ❤ I'm just finishing up my annual sock spin/knit a long the end of this month and then I should have two new finished pairs to wear 😊
Love your cardigan and your hand spun socks are beautiful!
i am so glad i found your channel. i am predicting that it will blow up soon! you’re such a lovely, well spoken and considerate person. i wish you all the best, from a new subscriber!
Your yarn is so squishy!!! I love it!!!
Sending hugs your way. I dislike when the knitting doesn’t behave properly. I had planned to make a lot of progress in February but caught Covid instead. It really took a lot out of me. I finally finished a fingering weight sweater that I cast on in September and cast on the hat for my brother in law. Then I would like to knit a couple of pairs of socks. We will see how much I actually accomplish. Good luck with your cardigan.
I gave you channel a try since I enjoy sewing. But there was just too much not about sewing. I'll check back to see if you've changed up a little.
