can 3DP fix my watch? (CAD TIME # 6)
Просмотров 737Месяц назад
Ah another fix, what a surprise! In this episode of CAD TIME I try to create a comfortable and customized strap for my Casio F-91W. I've had this watch for (I think) 3 years, and the original strap unfortunately started cracking and broke apart last month. Good thing I have a 3d printer! I know that the fabric NATO/military style straps exist but I was happy to create a waterproof design for ch...

Time flies when you're having fun? This month marks the start of the second semester of my masters degree in mechanical engineering. This term I will be dialing in my research topic and choosing a committee. Although this is a bit different than my normal upload - I thought to share what a day is like for me now that school has picked up again. Of course not every day is all over the place like...

3D printing a pottery tool & testing my skills (CAD TIME # 4)
Просмотров 4722 месяца назад
In this episode of CAD time, I acted on a last minute idea of making a pottery rib in time to try it out for class (40 minute crunch time). Don't ask me why I didn't think of doing it sooner - that's not how ideas work... Disclaimer: This is only my second time trying wheel throwing... my skills were definitely tested in today's video. Also I did recently get a newer camera, still working on ge...

oh my god? You were on tv?!
How did you get the lighting on your neon sign to work? Is there a video on that?
@@firstechsolutions8713 are you talking about my letter lights hanging up on the wall ?
@@strelkomania yes
@@firstechsolutions8713 Its a battery powered string of lights! I hide the battery pack in the back of one of the letters (one in the O for STRELKO and one in the S for MAKES). I bought them on amazon, "Fairy Lights Battery Powered Globe string lights": www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GGZT4CP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title I put the link in the comment here but not sure if YT will post the link.. "Globe lights". I made the letters out of cardboard from amazon boxes and painted them. If you're not looking to keep replacing the batteries on the lights, use either rechargeable ones or those fake AA batteries that have the shape of the battery but actually plug into the wall - "AC Power Supply Adapter for AA Battery"

Congrats! The item looks good :)
You are the essence of everything good in this world!
Congrats! Love your channel!
I would like to say thank you. I'm an older male that thought I was done raising children. I currently have my 10-year-old granddaughter living with me and will probably be with me for years to come. She is a chaotic mess and reminds me of myself. That's not a bad thing, but I don't want her to just remind me of myself, I want her to look at brilliant young women like you and be better than me, think beyond what I can do (I'm an IBM Mainframe Engineer). I plan to show her your videos and others that show her that if she works hard at her passions there is a chance that she will end up doing amazing things. Good luck in your life. I'm rooting for you.
i love this. you'd go nuts in the FPV scene for sure
You are awesome! You keep doing what you like to do and it will take you far!
Well deserved and congrats. I had no idea you were from Windsor why the F has Nero not shouted you out or done a collab!!!
Also, my niece loves your channel. ❤️
Anyone here thinking "wow" needs to spend more time on youtube. Preferably high.
Too awesome! Fantastic work. You definitely nailed the interview.
My introduction to actually doing 3D printing was while working at Sandia national labs where we had one of those services where you upload your STL and they print it for you on site. Designed a couple of wafer chucks and some other stuff for different instruments which was so nifty I decided to get my own.
Congrats on the feature! These videos are super inspiring as someone who is still learning 3D printing stuff. Also I love that the bow ties got featured, they’re like a collectors item now lol

hell yeah Dora! love this!
I am so proud of you Dora, congrats!! 👏 It's been inspiring watching your journey, and I’m beyond excited to see all the amazing things ahead for you!
Congrats! 🎉
Nice to see another Ontarian exploring the wonderful things that 3D printing can do. I find that it's not so much the product or end result, more it is the process of getting there from designing to making.
👏👏👏
Congrats! Best of luck with continuing to grow!
Congrats on the coverage! Lots of cool designs.
2:58 Well now I feel old 🙂
I had the "forgotten how far you've already come" moment just recently - it's far too easy to overlook but I found it really solidified that I'm on the right path and can be proud of where I'm at. You're already killing it too and we're all excited to see where you take yourself from here!
🎉🎉❤
This is awesome!!! They could not have picked a better person to show the power of 3D printing and design work to those who don't understand. Congrats on the amazing work and dedication! Nice to see it not go unnoticed. Love it!
very proud , congrats dora 🙌
>.> .... next five years are going to be wild! Congrats!
Gotta say, this is extremely inspiring!
That's amazing and well deserved! congratulations :)
LETSSS GOOOO!!!!
Congrats! That's pretty cool and great exposure for 3D printing!
That's awesome! Your creativity is really high. I'm really happy for all the progress that you have made. Keep on the good work :)
So Cool! So happy for you! 👏
Now you gotta paint it. 😂
good idea! i'm not too sure how the face will turn out if I try to paint it though 😂
How about creality print
Good point, I didn't realize it was really being used. I'll have to make a part 2! Any other slicers you can think of?
That support looked like Venom trying to get you. Good one Dora.
You're right! It does look like that 😂
Niiiice 😮
Glad you think so!
Now you have to modify the file to give yourself bendable joints so you have an action figure of yourself.
This is an awesome idea! I'll have to figure out how to edit this mesh. Converting it back to a solid in Fusion 360 pretty much crashes the desktop app for me because of how many triangles the surface is made up of. Guess I will need to simplify the mesh somehow first... but I have been playing with 3d printed ball joints recently!
Really nice design. I love the blue on black look also. Great job!
Thank you! I quite enjoy it too :D
@@strelkomania Stay all kinds of awesome and keep us up to date in your projects. Enjoy watching you work through your thought and build process.
@@bjohns04 Thank you, it means a lot. I love posting videos it just takes a bit of time. When I get comments like this it makes the work worth it :)
@@strelkomania I hear ya. I have a RUclips channel and when it was popular, it was sometimes harder to keep up with the comments then editing the video. Lol. So kudos!!! I appreciate your replies. You're awesome in many ways!
@bjohns04 comments are a totally different beast haha. Thank you for being here and for replying back! If you want to share your channel I'd be more than happy to check it out :) plus on RUclips, we all start somewhere. I'm just happy to see people watch what I make, it still surprises me every time I post!
I've been 3D printing for a long time and have done a lot of designing in Onshape. I watched your video and you inspired me to try my first print in place design. Please keep doing what you're doing! Love your channel! Was happy to sub!
I'm so excited to hear this! You will have to let me know how your first print in place experiment went. Thank you for being here :)
Just saw you in an online news piece. I have a Bambu P1S so though I'd give your channel a look. I'm in Sarnia.
Hello! Welcome :) How are you liking your P1S?
@strelkomania It's amazing. After going through several other printers, it's a breath of fresh air. Never a failed print unless I make an error myself setting things up.
Good resolution, good a$$. Just kidding and also not kidding. Keep being excited about 3D prints. I love them too! ❤😊
This comment killed me 💀😭
This is a little version of me Alan, I want you to have it
Hello Alan!
I wish 3d scanners were cheaper. I can buy like 3 printers for the price of 1 scanner.
I know right... but phone scanning apps have for sure improved - just depends on the phone you have 🙃
That's really cool .
If you haven't tried rock climbing/bouldering before you should give it a go! It is both a mental and physical challenge and honestly a lot of fun.
You are so beautiful. I mean your videos.
