Lol-'Scientist said that Grindavik is not in danger. But we do not know'. Seems a contradiction in terms. Either you state something as scientific fact or it's not scientific fact. The scientist was referencing the specific eruption with reguard the direction of the lava flow. Therefore meaning that the town Grindavike was not in danger of lava from that specific lava flow flowing in to the town unless certain significant changes occur. He was not meaning the is no danger threat to Grindavik as Grindavik has been cracking open and tectonic fissure are there in abundance with land subsidence and the Mid Atalantic rift seemingly running right though the town. One side had dropped a significantly measure below the other side and the riftiing it self which results in the volcanic fissures opening has not stopped being active. So the Mid Atlantic rift is still rifting and sea floor is still spreading and there fore the rifting series is still continuing. The people who were once living there know there is a danger that an fissure could open up at any time even with in the town or very close by. I believe the Town is not declared safe at all. The town is officially abandoned and so there is no immediate imminent danger as the erupting rift is a few miles futher north which releases the pressure and so the pressure guage is out of what is considered the immediiate need to evacuate. But that presure guage is climbing again.
