"Try anything, try a roll?" Cmon coach, really? That's not coaching, that's letting him know you're just as clueless as he is during those situations. You can't roll when you're flattened out on bottom coach, have him make the first move, hand fight, work up a base, clear his legs, then roll. And when coming up off bottom, have them attack hands before lowering the hips or your wrestlers are going to get returned with a slam. And if that bottom wrestler is going to have his ankles high when he's set, have top snatch that ankle and flatten him out. The kid showed great heart in the win so I don't want to take anything away from him, however, the coach needs to CONFIDENTLY tell his wrestler to take top, bottom, or neutral at the end of the second. You should know his strengths and weaknesses. And please no matter what, after that second stall point, you tell him to break him. These kids feed off of you, your confidence, and your fire. SHOW IT TO THEM!!!
