Просмотров 1163 месяца назад
We are delighted to share our son’s final High School Jazz Concert. This concert was performed in front a packed house at the Moore High School PAC on May 9, 2024. It was a bittersweet moment as we celebrated all our graduating seniors. For many of these talented musicians, this marks the culmination of four years in the Jazz Program. We’d like to send a special thank you to Mr. Clint Brown, wh...

    I've watched a lot of the videos of the Moore tornado and other tornadoes and I have never seen a tornado rope out. It was very interesting. And I'm sure it was a great relief for the residents of Moore. Most chasers watch the storms and call the beginning of a tornado the "birth" of the tornado I'm wondering if they use the term the"death" of the tornado when it ropes out?

    Good footage. The clouds right above the guy looked more menacing than the others. I’m a trained spotter and hobby chaser. I wish that old wives tale “Tornadoes sound like freight trains” would cease. They absolutely don’t. They sound like what they are; huge, powerful wind tunnels. The big ones roar.

    I'm late to the party but great job!! Thanks for sharing. I see so many novice tornado videos when they are close enough to have a hard time escaping if it abruptly changes direction. Especially if it also suddenly became rain wrapped. Just curious if most of these people have a "oh crap" plan such as a shelter nearby.

    This tornado was incredibly loud, to say the least, even from considerable distances you can clearly hear the tornado's roar. Tuscaloosa and 91 Andover KS are other examples of twisters producing a deafening roar.

      They all do, but there is no doubt that when a violent tornado travels through residential neighbourhoods, the sound is even more obvious and unforgetable. FWIW, I know an extremely experienced storm chaser & highly educated severe weather researcher who has witnessed many F-4/F-5/EF-4/EF-5 tornadoes. He told me that this tornado was the ugliest-sounding tornado he had ever heard. He found both the view of the tornado obliterating parts of Moore & its sound to be very disturbing, rather than awe-inspiring.

    • @dannyllerenatv8635
      @dannyllerenatv8635 Год назад

      @@derekbaker3279 It was a very ugly-sounding twister indeed and from a distance it almost looks like a smoke cloud. I cannot even imagine what one of these things sound like up close.

    • @dannyllerenatv8635
      @dannyllerenatv8635 Год назад

      @@derekbaker3279 Another really ugly-sounding tornado was the Jarrell twister. Not too surprising considering how violent it was, but in the small amount of footage that exists of the Jarrell tornado up close, it does not sound like a freight train. It sounds like a continuous amount of TNT and other high-caliber explosives detonating non-stop.

    I don't understand why no tornado sirens are blaring. Moore has them, with the size of this one, sirens should have been blaring nonstop

    • @JevVan
      @JevVan 2 года назад

      The tornado had been on the ground for some time. The sirens had sounded multiple times at this point. I'm guessing the people who push the button were in their shelter.

    • @cmerton

      Sirens NEVER blare constantly, they will burn up. They come on for a bit, off for a bit. There are plenty of videos on youtube where siren freaks identify make and model just by the sound, and there are plenty of facts about how sirens operate if you really want to know. Also, this tornado first touched down miles from Moore, and not only was it visible to the human eye for miles, its approach was saturation covered by the radio and tv.
