Yes! Birding is fun and therapeutic !
Hello Sam, Just stumbled upon your video. Firstly, wonderful footage and what a humbling privilege to be in the presence of these magnificent creatures. I particularly liked your POV perspective of the experience and the fact that there is no music appended to the video. Only the sounds of the wild. I am planning to visit Amboseli in October to hopefully capture that iconic image of a super tusker with Killi in the background. Granted this is an event that can’t be guaranteed and I’d be at the mercy of nature. However one can plan and hope. This being said would you be kind enough to share some pointers or contacts who might be helpful with executing this plan? Thanks & regards, Sherome Fonseka
@@sheromefonseka1852 Hi Sherome, Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm glad you liked the video. It really is a privilege to have witnessed what i did there. Thankfully I've been back since and had some more incredible encounters! Certainly, my work is to organise trips like these for guests and I know the best guide and place to stay to get "that shot". Please feel free to email me at sam@africaodyssey and we can chat directly by email. Have a lovely day! Sam
@@samhankss Thanks very much for your prompt reply. I’ll email you in due course. Cheers, Sherome
Why did some of those wildebeest go back across at the end?
@@charleswatts3810 they were young ones who had been separated from their mothers and were looking for them. They then swam back again to our side and joined the herd.
@@samhankss Ok. Thanks.
White people pay to see this damn😅
Красивые такие ,за жизнь борются!!!
Не нужно пугать животных,стал на их пути.,им так тяжело,крокодилы их жрут
It looks a bit like influx of migrants coming across Chanel in uk . !
They are both🌹beautiful
Lion King Stampede instantly comes to my mind when watching this. Hyenas causing the Wildebeest to stampede into the Gorge And cause a massive dust cloud 7:49
Me gusta ver mucho la naturaleza 🦓🦁🦬🐆🐘🐅🦍
Nice video
Excellent camwork by the legendary Sam "Sammy" Hankss!
Please hold camera well so do not get sore eyes.
He’s following her tail like a cub would lol. 🥰
That's Casper but today he looks somewhat ill.
Promenade....tranquilla e... Rilassante😘🦁
That’s Casper . Now we know why he was missing from his brothers.
Too bad video is 2 weeks old, there was information that he had fight with his brothers and he is alone now . I would like to get an update about him, how is he doing now ?. He needs his brothers support and friendship more than they need him, it is very tough to survive for lone lion.
He is well. Male lions tend to have disagreements, especially when they are part of a coalition, but it seems him and his brothers spend time apart and then come back together again. He is a tough one!
Omg, how lucky! U saw the famous Casper.
That is Casoers
What a muscular handsome beast
Please keep those windows opened, haven't seen a good video in a while.
Que hermosos unos se regresaron a buscar a sus hijos
It looks like an easy crossing with no steep cliff or crocs.
Another great video Sam. When the time comes - and with your permission - I will contact you so as to learn what to do to travel to that part of the world and experience Africa. I would say within the next 5 years I will make my way there. I read in one of your comments you offered to assist someone if they needed it and I hope I'm not being presumptuous. Keep the videos coming.
Hi Peter, thank you for your kind words and yes, when the time comes, please let me know and I will gladly assist with getting you over there. It's an incredible continent with so much to se and do. Thank you again for your comment and hope you enjoy the content. I have a blog www.samhankssphotography.wordpress.com which is updated more regularly with stories which you may find interesting.
Sam, is that a regular ole kitten, like the one my friend has in her flat? Goodness me, it looks like a leopard or cheetah with those colors and spots. Africa must be hellacool. Cheers from San Diego, California.
Thanks Peter, it's a serval kitten, only a month or so old. Beautiful little thing
It seemed around the 5:30 mark of the video, the animals got spooked coming up that channel next to where your cameras are. Before that they were coming up in droves. Are the animals afraid of people and the vehicles they ride in? BTW Fantastic video, I long for the day I, too, can watch that migration across the Mara river. The sights and smells and sounds must just be other worldly when you're right there watching it. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Peter, sorry for the late reply! So the wildebeest are quite cautious animals but in truth they just follow one another... so if one just happens to decide to go another way, quite often the others will follow. Animals generally will choose the path of least resistance which will depend on the individual. I hope you get to witness it one day too, it's a sighting beyond belief!
great!!!
I think I counted about a quarter million maybe less !
what month of the year was this footage taken Sam?
Hi Allan, it was late November. The rains had not arrived so it was very dry as you can see.
Hi Allan, it was late November. The rains had not arrived so it was very dry as you can see.
Heading there this November for a second time hoping the same !!
@@allaneastcoast Fantastic! Have an incredible time. If you ever need help planning a trip let me know and I'll be happy to help.
This can be deemed as a successful migration on wildebeest standard. They picked the best crossing point with no bottlenecks, no alligators to be found, and smooth waters.
Don’t you mean crocodile alligators do not live in Africa
yg bikin video lol putar puter bikin pusing nzik
Small correction is should be corrected as Tuskers and I am so sorry for the mistake made in there
Man excellent job well done. Remember to day takers don't have rights to life even inside a wildlife century. So sad. Everyone please protect them
حلوووو
Thanks 😊 🫂 🙏 again 😊
Wow nice pictures, this very beautiful, so huge Elephants with babies, thanks.
Thank you Wandia!
Hello Sam, Sorry I am not a English speaking person so sorry if my question is not very clear , frist ...Super pics I must say I love you B-W versions .I will be in Amboseli in 10 days and I was wondering how they allowed you to get out the jeep , I have been there before and there was no way the driver let me out what was very frustatin . Did you had to be giving permission by the park authorities or where You just lucky with you driver ? Luc , Ps; I am using my wife account
Hi Luc, thank you so much for your kind words. We were in a private concession, which adjoins the park, so not in the National Park itself where you are not allowed to alight from the vehicle. I worked with an amazing guide which of course makes things much easier. , but if you are not in the vehicles that are allowed into the concessions, then you are unlikely to be able to get out of the car. I stayed at Tortilis Camp which has its own private areas. Hope this helps.
@@samhankss Hello Sam, thanks for this quick answer , you answer make me very happy because not only whe are going to Amboseli , but we will also go to some conservancy area where you are able to find some big tusker with a bit of luck . I always love those low POV , these make you subject so match stronger , Thanks again, Luc
@@fionaofarrell1473 Perfect - sounds like you have the right ideas to get what you want. Have a great time!
Those are pretty cool Sam, 😊
Thank you Sandra - Servals are incredible!
Lastima el vídeo..la cagaste ...
That is so cool to be that close to the elephants. Doesn't look like much for them to eat. What do they eat?
Thank you Sandra. They eat most vegetation. As it was the end of the dry season, sources were limited, however there are forested and swamp areas that provide a good bulk of their food during the drier months.
Wow, the morning shots were gorgeous, the calm water. Great video 😊
Thank you so much :)

subhanallah...
wow,,magistosso,, greath,,las vacas libres,, en la temporada de la inundacion,es donde hay peligro,,y la parte del cruce, donde hay muchos cocodrilos.
This is where Mr.Attenborough would have come in very handy, I would have loved to know why that lot decided to turn back at the end and where did they go. Thanks forr sharing with us.
So they are youngsters looking for their mother's. Unfortunately when you have thousands of animals stampeding, many young ones get disorientated and lose sight of their parent. In the chaos and confusion they have stuck together and decided to go back to try and find their mums.
@@samhankss Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining.
