Mod the SNES Classic and add games from more consoles!
Просмотров 1376 месяцев назад
The SNES Classic only has 21 games on it. That's not nearly enough, plus it only plays SNES games. We can fix that! In this video I've used Hakchi2CE to reflash the SNES classic and add more SNES games, as well as some Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) games! If you've got an idea as to why I couldn't get Hakchi2 CE working with my modded SNES Classic until ...

    How did you originally learn these skills? EE major in college? Trial and error?

      @DMSCreates 12 дней назад

      Started learning in highschool, then picked up bits of knowledge in university (software engineering). Mostly just tinkering with stuff and reading a lot online

      @@DMSCreates Ive looked online at those places I always see ads for like Coursera, etc. But none of them have a course in things like basic electronics, soldering, that type of thing. Any suggestions?

      I like to think of a project (or find one online that I feel comfortable trying) and look for specific info on how to figure it out. I'll ask around on reddit, search RUclips, and sometimes look at academic sources. It's not the easiest way to learn a lot, but you learn specific things and accomplish something on the way. If you've seen my pico mouse jiggler video, that was because I had a couple spare raspberry pi picos lying around and I wanted to see how difficult it would be to make it act like a mouse. I like retro consoles, so communities that discuss console repair and modding are also placed I check out while planning projects

      Hydrogen peroxide sun treatment. In the lid of a tub pour hydrogen peroxide, place case inside above the peroxide, put bottom of tib on top and seal, put it in direct sunlight for a couple days. The sun evaporates the peroxide in the tub so it coats everything. You do get a significant result.

    • @DMSCreates
      @DMSCreates 15 дней назад

      My only problem with peroxide treatment is that it can make the plastic more brittle. It does make it look a lot nicer though. Definitely good for restoring the look

    Thanks for this, made a few at start of Covid and just got asked for another one, totally forgot the process. Couldn't get the auto one to work but the manual setup worked great (went for 10px and 2 seconds).

      That's fantastic! Glad it could be of help! I actually updated my code to do 5px every X seconds where x is randomly chosen between 20 and 60. It's essentially completely unnoticeable now, unless you're watching youtube or on a zoom call, then you'll see the controls pop up every so often.
