Original drummer: Boris Williams This is a drum cover of "Push" from The Head on the Door album (1985). A song with so much energy but even more in live! Just look for Push played In Orange! Excellent job, man. Boris is my favorite drummer and a freaking genius. The Cure has never been the same without him behind the kit. I always come back and listen to this. There's not enough covers of the more obscure songs of theirs, and I love focusing on Boris's awesome drumming. One interesting fact about his drumming that I didn't realize until I read something mentioning it - he almost never uses a ride cymbal. In fact, I don't know if he ever used it on any recording. I wonder if he really didn't like the ride or he had a superstition against it or something, very odd.

Yes, one of the characteristics of Boris' playing with The Cure is that he never played a ride cymbal but In If Only Tonight We Could Sleep he uses a crash cymbal as a ride cymbal. After his tenure in The Cure, Boris was spotted playing an actual ride cymbal in concert with Shelleyan Orphan. I recommend you to hear "Dead Cat" and Muddied Up by Shelleyan Orphan where Boris plays wonderful Curish drum patterns. In general, the Humroot album is very recommendable for any Boris fan or percussion lover... also the We Have Everything We Need album has very good Boris' drum patterns. La verdad la tocas mejor que el mismo Alfonso que ahora toca cualquier cosa menos lo que está grabado en estudio. Con los años Alfonso se ha relajado mucho y ya no le importa tocar los mismos redobles ni arreglos que suenan muy bien y que fueron grabados en estudio. Saludos!!!
