Going back and listening again to the 5th, this is easily one of the best 5ths this year, regardless of division. FV improved their selection choice from last year, while ASU balanced their sound a bit more in comparison to last year. In person, it felt like FV got stronger as the 5th went on, but parts of ASU's instrumentation got drowned as the rounds went on, after about the halfway point. Hadn't seen that many people on the field for a 5th in a while, so it is great to see both programs bringing back the culture to the state. I'm giving the overall 5th to FV, due to consistency throughout every round. Albany is on the uptick, not to discredit. Hopefully, this draws more and more GA high school kids to stay IN STATE as opposed to being poached by out-of-state programs lol.

Albany’s director has only been there a little over a year, they are definitely on a fast track for rebuilding the program and the past several years for FV have been defining for them as well. Overall, this was by far the best back and forth between these bands ever and I think this battle will become one to watch for bandheads especially in Georgia. It felt very “old school” like a 90s/early 00s era battle and definitely fun to watch. (Even moreso than some of the top SWAC battles)….Albany’s song selection was top tier for battle and the crowds energy was on their side. Also, the Passionettes gave them an additional edge 🔥🔥 FV had better instrumentation in the brasswinds and overall a clean sound. The bands were neck and neck overall but I feel like ASU edged out the W.

Veryyyyy good!!!!! Now this was a great battle! And I love when two rival dance teams end up having the same hair style that day unprepared or similar costumes. I love it. Both bands ate and sound and look so good. Great battle.

I love my Alma Mater but ill have to give this one to Albany fv didn’t display the range as far as song selection I would’ve appreciated more variety they came to knock some heads off most definitely but could’ve use different approaches throughout the battle.

Great job by both ASU and FVSU !!!🔥🔥🔥. Great fun battle. I think at 9:20, There was Love is when the ASU MRSB won this battle. FVSU sounded really good, but did not seem to have a come back at that point. It seemed as if they were knocked on their heels at that point, and MRSB rode the momentum. Still a great battle. A lot of fun !!
