Hey! I know this comment is a bit late, but just hoping you could confirm this or not. That's a "Special" model SG you're playing that only has the 2 post bridge/tailpiece combined right? If so, is the "Stetsbar Pro 2" the only model that will work on this style SG and did you have to drill any holes into the body to make it work?

Note: this unit is ESDS - Electro-Static Discharge Sensitive. If you feel the need to run your fingers over those chips inside - don't. This tiniest static spark can permanently damage some of them. Technicians use a grounding mat and a grounding wrist strap to work on things like this. The damage may not appear immediately, which is often worse than immediate failure. Just change the battery and close it back up, and it will likely last a good long time. If the capacitors are leaking or swollen, they should be replaced by a real electronics repair person.

A suitable replacement for the original Energizer 523 4.5 V battery is the Exell A133. I have two Digitech GSP 7 units. So I bought a two-pack. Pretty excellent battery life, as this was made in 1991, still had the original battery, apparently, and worked just fine up until last night (2024). Guitar is not my primary instrument, keyboards is, and this unit is perfect for the two or three songs I play guitar on in a normal show. Great sounds, fully programmable, as compact as it gets, and I play it through my keyboard amp and the PA without lugging along a guitar amp.

No neck dive too. A set of Tusq saddle improved the tone on mine. P-90’s are their own thing.

Is your argument that Gibson-made guitars with that rype of headstock *_don't_* have an increased tendency to break headstocks while being moved around in a case? I mean, I guess you have to weigh the likelihood of it happening to your guitar against the costs of prevention, but it's not like the inside of a case is some magical inertia-free zone. I'm not convinced that this device will help, but you seem to be dismissing the idea that help is desirable.

The battery he replaced wasn't a AA battery... it was a 4.5 v battery just like the one he put in.

What’s even more crazy, for the price of a Gibson, or now GOOD epiphone, a case, and this thing, you could’ve just bought a better made guitar in general. $1000 will get you some insanely better quality. $4000 gets you pretty much a TO-SPEC, higher quality, 1 off, special to you guitar by a RESPECTABLE company. Never buy Gibson or epiphone. Gone are the days where they reign supreme

Ended up checking this out after watching an old Stetsbar Pro ii video you made. That's a cool looking bass - reminders me of some of the 8 string Hamers I've seen before.

I guess I need to do a video of this amp; there are a lot of things you've missed; you clearly don't know these amps. Compare the schematics and wire it according to the second version. (there are 3 versions.) In 66 they used no cathode bypass caps; they also put the reverb control before the tank; the other schematics have it after the tank, do that and it's easy to control the hum; mine doesn't make a peep unless you max it out. They put a 500pf cap from grid to ground on the second gain stage and it was stealing all of the highs; cut it out. I don't know why mine stays so clean but it's very loud and clean with both brightness and fullness. The controls are funny but you get used to them. I used 5uf bypass cap on the second gain stage and a .1uf non-polarised cap on the first stage. Doing anything to the first stage will boost your reverb level so it's not for everyone; I ended up using a 12at7 as a reverb driver to tame it.

I just got one of these guitars ('05)... ... SHE IS THE SHIT! Can't say much more.
