Positive Self-Talk social story for preschool
Yes, very helpful
Nah. Answer them and mess with the scammers. See how long you can keep them on the line. It’s more fun that way.
Im greatful that my kids know they can be like..no thanks...but when its to things like cleaning up after themselves, or chores that would have been expected to be done...gives me flashbacks to when that, saying naw, was not an option, and i feel like theres a flash of astonishment at first. Because we would of never gotten away with it. And wtf do ya do to teach what ya know when you were taught, maybe not the best way. I also feel that im a more respectful person because i was taught to be respectful...be it as being smacked in the head if i didnt say ms. Or mr. Not the best way...but, i knew respect was important...by not being respected...wtf...i got smacked too many times
First time I heard it, I blinked and thought maybe I needed more context. Second time, I hear ya.
Thank you so much for this Mini - Series!!! I have worked in self contained for 15 years. I have taken part in all the steps except for this next step on. I have moved to another state in a very small district that does not have all the support I am use to counting on. There is only 1 elementary school, 1 middle school and 1 high school. I have a student that I am trying to take data on so I can narrow down my focus. This is a lot of help, so thank you so much!!! PS have either of you work with a student that has DiGeorge syndrome? If so, can you point me in a direction that can give me any type of help at all. I have done a lot of searching and I have not come up with much on how to help this student. I even emailed specialty hospitals that deal with it and have gotten no response. I have started like I have with autistic kids and have made changes from there. It would be so nice to have more information to work with. Thanks!
I have never even heard of DiGeorge and I've worked with a LOT of kiddos! For the most part, though, good strategies are good strategies regardless of the label, so I've found that just doing what I'd do with "best practices" is what I do no matter what the diagnosis. Keep listening! Thanks!
It wasn't duct tape.
🤔 excuse me man, can you please make sure that the new generation is well versed on feelings, and mental health. That way they can all sit around and talk about gender identity and feelings, as all the infrastructure falls apart because everyone is a fucking therapist or guidance councillor, as the trauma that surrounded there entire childhood is eating them up inside! I mean, clean there rooms and rinse there dishes!!!’ 😡 does everyone think they are slaves nowadays!!!’ 🤦♂️
Exactly how I was - ASD 1. At the time, I was diagnosed with asperger’s, but that diagnosis isn’t used anymore. I’m 22 now and looking to go into creative writing!
Haha brilliant seeing this. My son does exactly the same. He's 3 now and can count to 100 forward and backwards, can do it in just even numbers or odd number, can read all the colours and match them all up etc...same with letters. He was diagnosed autistic at age two, still non verbal but does vocalise. His autistic traits seem to be diminishing slowly. Very affectionate and laughs at funny situations. Hoping that he is hyperlexia type 3 rather than autistic, but we'll see.
I am so happy to see something like this my son is ASD 1 and hyperlexic. He has been making progress. Was there anything you did to stimulate language? Did having him read help? Thank you.
How is your son now ?
I’m an adult with ASD-1 who also had hyperlexia as a child - buy as many (age-appropriate) books as you can get your hands on. If he’s anything like I was, a library card will be your best friend.
hi my son is 20 months old, he is like that knows alphabets and numbers to 10, but don't talk and respond to his name. otherwise looks normal toddler. can you please tell me what to expect in my son development in coming years. when he going to talk and and respond to his name? thanks a lot
You should really talk to ur sons doctor because autism is a spectrum and will develop in his own ways. Referring yourself to an autism specialist will help a lot x
@@mellamotina5100 Ok thanks alot
Have you play miss rachel for him? My daughter watcher since she was 7 months maybe and she is now 26m and have hyperlexia, knows over 250 words, can decode a full deck of sight words BUT still can share her emotions / wants.

Hi - this looks great. Does this include goals and objectives and materials for reading comprehension for beginning reader in K going into 1st grade? Do you have the direct link for this? I’d like to purchase it. Thank you!
Hi! You can see it at abainschool.com/743i or email me at audra@abainschool.com for more info or with questions about it. For your question about the reader, depends on how much they're reading. It's really designed for the earliest learner or those struggling with language (due to autism or other disability). It includes 5 IEP goals (broken down into "sets" for teaching) like Recognizing name, Functional word-picture match, and very basic read-and-comprehend goals. It has additional links for extra materials to support each of those goals, too. Let me know if you have any questions!
Exactly how my kid was ❤
How old now?
@@abainschool just 5
@@abainschool he is 5 now
Was he verbal at 2 years and how was his understanding of language? Is he talking now ?
Hi!! My son was diagnosed with Autism last month, level 2 for social and communication, no other behaviors or issues. He is exactly like this, completely obsessed with shapes, numbers, and letters. He's probably known the alphabet since he was 12 months. How were you able to find out that he could read? I'm thinking mine can too, but since he's non-vocal, I'm not sure how to test.
Hi! Welcome to the crazy club. Shoot me an email, and let’s connect. Maybe I can give you some ideas. My “little” boy is now 26, by the way. It’s been a ride! audra@abainschool.com
Non vocal means non verbal? Does he speak single words? My son is also interested in letters, numbers, and is non verbal
He was nonverbal at the time, but vocal. He could read/say things he read out loud but didn't use the words for any communication purposes. He's 26 now and is completely verbal now. He began using words with meaning around 3 and progressed from there. Reading helped him a TON.
@ABA in School please I have same question
@@abainschool is he functioning well?what is his measure issues
How was your child showing autism along with the hyperlexia
Thank you for this!
