A nice, short and linear hack for the original Umihara Kawase. "Umi, are you okay?" There's a shortcut from F2 to F4 (upper right of the field) which is only reachable by a horizontal boost (I think the only required occurrence in the SNES games?). What is the screen overlay that pops up all the time? Are you running this on a PS3 or something?
It's actually just emulation (RetroArch) with achievements enabled (which includes online leaderboards)

Your trick for not taking damage when entering the scion room gave me the extra health I needed, and I was able to get the achievement. Also used your jump to skip a dart on the wall shimmy part and the copied your positioning for the Natla fight. Thank you!

im struggling in this. you did it easy when i get to natla i get wrecked. noted strat you used when making the drop before mutants. did you just back step and warp down that takes a chunk off health that drop. and them mutants have mind of there own sometimes they move how i want sometimes its train wreck.
The warp-drop glitch is pretty much a need, otherwise you lose around 50% health. As for Natla, it's all about locking her on the wall and/or not letting her get too close (an RNG mess).

Thanks for the video! I used it as a guide. I definitely wanted to minimize the time spent on this level because of the long boss fight at the beginning. Very helpful video to get the timing right with the traps. At 9:30 I opted for the Stella guide's method of traversing the crack all the way to the right and then dropping and sideflipping right twice. But this wasn't nearly as hard as the previous level.
Ah nice, I wish I knew about that before. Timing those traps throughout the whole level is a nightmare

Is it me or the oxide time trial in the remix is way harder
It depends on your experience with both of the versions. On the ps1 version I am horrible.I can't even drift properly. But on nitro fueled I have beaten all the dev times.

I accidentally got the checkpoint on Valley 4 and I had to start over. Can I save at Valley Ghost and resume the challenge if i fail further along?
Beat it yesterday in one session. Had to practice the Valley 4 jump on my 96 save a couple of times 😅🎮
Sadly not... the way the achievement logic is built, picking up a checkpoint is a fail condition and there's no way to reset it without doing it all again. Same happened to me when doing the challenge back then, and I had to redo 2 hours of gameplay 🤦 I even complained about it on the cheevo page, but alas; up to this day they didn't do anything to amend it yet.

I got to the last area with the centaur mummy and then it killed me with a single fireball, not sure how to deal with that one yet.. And how do you make it shoot the ceiling like that?
FeelsBadMan😞 Locking the centaur is kinda tricky; you need precise positioning and maybe some good RNG. If that fails, quickly resorting to jumping back and forth in diagonal (like in 22:38) is the way to go. Better make sure to arrive there with at least 25% health, just in case.
I ended up fighting it from Bacon Lara's room. If you coax the centaur to the end of the hall, sometimes it runs in circles above the hole and you can shoot up at it with impunity.

My best strategy was to keep going at full speed and slowing down just to catch flags and fish; or in dire occasions. That way you have enough time for completing the stages + lots of points (primarily from items collected). Seals are your worst enemies here, as those sequences of 4~5 big holes -- a lot of (de)accelerating and muscular memory is needed. It starts getting pretty tough around Stage 04 or so, thus getting a good bunch of points beforehand helps. My best high was "just" 50K-ish at the time before this video; so needless to say I'm pretty satisfied with such an unexpected 87K!
