His brother Chris played for the Boston Celtics but first he also accepted a full ride to BC and ended up dropping out… He was so good that Jerry Tarkanian called him to join the Fresno Bulldogs… I was in Las Vegas after working on a film set in Park City I was actually with his brother and big Mike was actually the publicist on the film… Big Mike had other business and left for Florida or something before he left he ask me to go help his brother get in shape… So instead of going back to Boston I ended up taking that bumpy hop flight to Fresno and living with Chris for a year… His dad and brother asked me to keep an eye on him so that’s what I did… we are all like family and played a ton a ball together so I know how that competitive bug can get very serious… I’ve got a story about the time Big Mike and I picked up a hung over Billy Bayno who dove in the back seat… It was off season but he was coaching UNLV and we went to one of the old gyms in the city where Billy was meeting a couple over seas players… Later they didn’t know we were with Billy and they started to rag on our play, I had thrown up a hard backboard brick and Big Mike missed a few easy stuff but we still EASILY beat these other two guys… Well they actually got nasty and Big Mike looked at me and it was on. Big Mike said $100 on this one… The taller kid 6-6 said, “each, $100 each and we’ll do it” I nodded to Mike who replied, “Done!” It got nasty! I’ll tell you about one of these days… I hit 2 - 3 pointers back to back to open the game and Big Mike kept back in the bigger kid and head faking him out of his shoes… We went cold mid game but I’ll save the outcome for your next basketball video… Maybe it was called the LV Athletic center? I can’t remember but it was the gym that Mike Tyson used to workout at before he fought Holyfield… Billy told us the story when we were in the cold plunge and I got out to hit the heavy bag Mike used to hit… Felt great! I currently have kern switar lenses, but am almost considering selling them and investing in Nikon glass for that functionality alone. As I'm looking at the adapter you're talking about to take advantage of that functionality... I'm not finding any info on the one's I'm seeing and if it has that specific function. • @ryan_wiik
      @ryan_wiik 10 месяцев назад

      Hi, it sounds correct that you should be making an adjustment on AR over RX. I've seen comments about that in the Bolex community, but I primarily shoot RX lenses. In general I like to overexpose, with 2/3 to one stop, as it seems to give the best results. I have found a lot of leniency in correcting overexposed shots, on the contrary, very little can be done with underexposure on film. I recommend that you look at the Bolex User Community on Facebook (group), as they will be able to give the right answer to your question. They discuss the topic of AR v RX frequently. Best Ryan

      @@thesonofavich 26mm covers S16 perfectly, beautiful even opened up to f1.1. Contrast, color, and contrast are all beautiful. If you shoot something with it, the image just pops. Not sure about the 12.5... I've never used it. Likely does not cover S16 through the entire range.

    Thanks for showing varied focal length lenses. I learned something with your video. I have an EL III and starting to learn how to use it . I will soon film a documentary.

    I really like your approach to integrate the blockchain seamlessly in the project without shoving it into the user's faces. It's refreshing to see such a creative blockchain project that is well thought of many facets.

    Hi there, thanks for the video. I'm new to this. What would be the crop factor for the Nikon NIKKOR lenses?

    • @ryan_wiik
      @ryan_wiik 11 месяцев назад

      Hi! That's great. I'm going to ask the DP or First Assistant Camera operator to make sure I'm giving you the right answer when I speak to them tomorrow. But in simpler terms, the 20mm Nikkor lens, is the equivalent to the lens characteristics of a 10mm Switar lens. 50mm Nikkor to the 25mm Switar lens etc. Think of 16mm film as micro-four-thirds, in terms of sensor size, and the lenses are made to cover that size format. While 35mm (photography lenses) cover the same as a "full-frame sensor". Perhaps someone here can explain this better than I am doing just now...

    The steadicam shot of you walking down the stairs and talking was clean. Please tell me it was a gimbal

      Indeed it was gimbal + strong and steady hands of the operator
