TSM - Pismo Clam Diving
Forecast 2ft swell, overcast, hightide was all the reason we needed to gear up and make a run down south. It was Jack and Jino's first time harvesting for clams, so I attended to make sure we were all safe and had a good adventure. All three of us limited and had a great shin ramen lunch

TSM Memorial Dive
Просмотров 9338 лет назад
Memorial Dive, we figured the conditions would be decent but it was more like a 4 out of 10. We had a couple of divers that have never dove before, so we were more than cautious about safety and keeping a eye on them. We dove Ocean Cove and didn't see anything big, it was protected better than some of the other places we drove by. None the less the newbies are happy they got their abalone, and ...
Santa Cruz Kayaks - Raptor G2

The NEW Raptor G2 by Santa Cruz Kayaks Santa Cruz is privileged to introduce this totally new kayak design. The only kayak that can switch from a great paddle kayak to a top of the line pedal boat. The Raptor G2 is faster than the previous version. With a 420 lb weight capacity this kayak can handle a load in it's pick up truck style cargo bed. Designed by Jim Martin , an incredibly smart and h...

TSM Nov 7 - Day Trip to Sonoma

Last minute trip up to sonoma to pull abalone with Moon, Dylan, Mason, Jack and Heesup. Ran into our camping buddies Jonathan and Gene out of the water there. Saw a ling, so I went back and loaded up to get it out of the hole and went back to abalone diving.

09.15.2015 Went out with Jino/David and my son Ethan. Forecast was overcast with slight wind. Vis in the water wasn't optimal but lucky I brought Ethan along as his flasher brought us home a ling! Used my Pathos 82 that redtrianglespearfishing.com let me test out

Spearfishing Lovers 3 - Monterey, CA
Просмотров 6809 лет назад
With my family at Lovers 1 playing in the beach, then accompanied by TSM members Mason, Allen & son to spearfish at Lovers 3. Flat and calm out, but vis was so-so. Made the most of it by shooting fish tacos for the 4th of July weekend. Did test out the Pathos 60 and it shot like a laser and enjoyed the kick with the Subcraft Celox F400 Carbon Fins.

Today was Ethan's video day, but he was home sick. So I borrowed his polespear since I sold my RA70 for the Pathos 60 and made use of the time trying to figure it out. Moon, Allen, Thomas, Doc, David were out and about. Doc and David limited on lings kayak fishing, jealous as they went out far on their motored kayaks. LOL I sat shooting fish tacos for the kids. www.redtrianglespearfishing.com (...

Thanks for the vid what size are the hatches?
Hahah! Dang!! This is too good.
What's the size of that oval hatch cover?
I did that like 10yrs ago, but here it is Dimensions: 16 1/2 x 9 3/8 inches I.D. and 10 1/2 X 17 1/4 inches
@@omgchaeki Thanks, I think that might be helpful. Does the cover fit snugly around the original lip of the oval? What brand is that? You guys do nice work. God bless the Dremel!
Cool vídeo 😊
Love this. Where was the at?
where have you gone ? miss your videos of diving and fishing. are you going to post again ?
Lol, thanks.. I actually might start posting often again. I relocated to the Oregon coast and been checking out the locations here.
@@omgchaeki look forward if you do. at least you can still dive for abalone up there - it's gonna be closed for another five years down here 🙄 your first vid can be you and your son diving for dungie crab and spearing fish 😁 🦀 🐟 keep safe 👍
Yikes y'all are in the marine protected area👀
From the point towards lovers beach is protected, left side isn't.
Three bands. Overkill much?
Shit, we weren’t smart enough to kayak out there. We swam. Those were long dives.
One word comes to mind...SWEET!!!
Trying to snap the Gaspacho OVAL hatch on to a Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL (2008 model) and the narrow curve spaces are too narrow, the Hatch lower lip is too wide and I can't push it down far enough to snap into place. Wondering if there were two different models?
I didn't seem to have that problem, but have you tried a hair dryer on the hatch to make it flex alittle to see if that would work?
I had exactly the same problem with the oval on that kayak model. Spent $90 on the Gapachi oval hatch. There's no way it's going on. So I called Ocean Kayak and they advised another plastic, not rubber, hatch cover., called the Ocean Kayak Cross Lock Hatch. It sits on top of a gasket and is held down with 4 straps. Not a great design but at least it does fit. Also $90
I wish I had just the Shells
The shells do look great in the landscape, especially the wavy snail shells after they are polished.
Did you modify your board with that circular hatch or did Banks do that for you custom. Awesome mod. Hurry up and make more videos. We're bored in quarantine lol. Just subscribed.
Sorry for the late reply, that was the original bank's board design. Rev1.. what is out lately is Rev2
What a cool video to see! I just got home from this campsite TODAY! What a amazing beach and a amazing place to stay. I've been going for a while now. My favorite place to go. If you're ever near Fort Bragg and need somewhere nice to camp, go to the Caspar Beach RV Park & Campground. You get this beach right across from your campsite.
If you don't mind me asking what dive watch are you wearing?
is that a custom made cart?
Sorry for the late reply, it is one that SCK has made for the kayak. So it is their custom cart.
Have you done any kind of seat upgrades. I have the same kayak and looking to do something with a stadium seat for more support and to raise your body up a little on the kayak.
If only there was a way to get better audio with the waterproof gopro case. Maybe an external mic, and then just sync the audio in post.
Good family/ crabbing video. I just subscribed to your channel
Today's date is 03/04/19, so I'm watching this video almost 8 years after you've made it. There are White Sea Bass and Halibut to be found nearby and around where you were diving. After watching your video, some helpful hints are in order. WSB can be found on the inside of the kelp beds, in the middle of the kelp beds, and on the outside edge of the kelp beds. SLOW DOWN - WAY DOWN - DO NOT CRANK YOUR HEAD AROUND FAST looking for these fish! These fish are VERY WARY - ease your way through the kelp beds in EXTRA SLOW motion! DO NOT MAKE A SOUND (splashing heavy breathing, or bubbles)!! It's not a game of how much water you cover, rather a game of how slowly and quietly you cover it! Stay on the surface mostly! Sometimes these fish are found under thick areas of kelp! Have your speargun set up with two magnum bands, use a three foot gun, very important to use a "3 inch slip tip" and have a 40 foot vinyl tube enclosed tuna cord float line. A 25 lb. WSB can drown you if not injured too badly - if you were tangled in your float line or spear gun line! My float line snapped onto my spear gun and my spear gun went with the fish. Make a float on the end of your float line that is tear drop shaped and about the size of an orange, so you can pull through the kelp without it hanging up and when a WSB you've speared stops running, it'll hopefully float back up to the surface. I usually held on to the end of my float line and swam after the WSB, trying to fight it out and keep it out of trouble. When you ease up on these fish, could be a single or a school of 3 to 50, move into range like a piece of drifting kelp - move your gun onto your target (slowly) and shoot them right behind the gill plate, NOT in the head! Have a minimum size measurement for WSB and halibut laid out on your spear gun! Carry a knife for cutting these fish out of the kelp! NOTE: Join the Kelp Stalkers Free Dive Club if they're still active! I used to belong to this amazing group of Free Divers - we've taken a number of WSB over 40 lbs. close by the area you guys were diving. Good Luck Guys - I wish I was still down there chasing these beautiful WSB around!
Thank you for the comment. Glad to see people still watch the videos I posted from a long time ago. Really great feedback, wish I was still living close by to dive. :) Rick - the little guy was in highschool at the time, he was pretty talented, even went to Stanford University. Chris - he had to stop diving completely because he had a hard time equalizing and doctor recommended that he stop. Jeeosh - was living in the mountains, haven't seen him dive ever since. Boy does time fly, as for myself, all my videos stop 3 yrs ago since I moved. I still go back to watch my videos from time to time reminiscing
One of my favorite dive locations
where are your gloves so u can handle the crabs better...
Anna Hughes, for me personally gloves are cumbersome when handling smaller gear
Now that's what I like. Your friend is hooking you up with help and you both have a good time doing it and come out with something cool in the end. Great job 😀
where did you buy the tapas?
Do you need a license for this??
Kc Lanuza yes, a standard fishing license
What year is this kayak? I just bought the exact same model.

Measure and toss in bag. Don't bother checking if male or female. Sure, both are legal but that's not what I would call sustainable harvesting. Future viewers please take this into consideration and check, then return the females to reproduce.
did you stay inside the jetty?
marine6 always outside the jetty
Great Video! Where did you get the Santa Cruz Kayak? I don't see that being sold around here.

Learning a lot from your videos. Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge.
it is a never ending journey, always feel like a newbie learning new circumstances... LOL I always look forward to eating the catch, that is the best part for me.
Best part for me is getting a video =p but the food isn't bad either. Sarah and I got our open cell wetsuits a month ago. I'm planning on taking a free diving course in Monterey soon. Hope to get comfortable enough to film some amazing stuff underwater. Loved the Pismo Clam video you posted too. I subbed! lol
wew
Hahaha,,,, I never caught that last line... You very funny man.
what are the specs on all of those tie downs for the oval hatch cover in the center. The cover doesn't come with any of the. Where would I get them and how would I describe them in a search to find the correct items? GOOD VIDEO!

The kelp is like a foggy forest, but under water. Neat to see.
I've never crabbed before from a boat. Educational. Also, it was cool how you taught your little one how to process them.
always love to see your cool videos. one day I would love to join your TSM team to have fun together. I'm from Bay area (concord) and also love to do spearfishing and ab diving.
Joon, add me on kakaotalk search "chaeki" or email me your cell number I can add you to our group
Can anyone tell me the name of the peace of music that starts at the 1:45 mark. Thanx
how are the rod holder placement working for you ? i am trying to do something similar for mine but I'm not set on the placement of the rod holders. I want to be able to peddle and have the rods set in place for spinners and be close by if fish is on. i will use it with my wife and solo as well. thanks
Does the pedal comes in the regular raptor sot also?
man, that looks like a lot of fun.
Crabbing seasons starting again in a few months! Hopefully its better then last year. If ur down for it, would love to join you in HMB sometime. Am on a Malibu X-Factor, and have pods etc.
I made a drinking game out of this. take a shot every time someone says "sweet"...
