Nicole Alexis (also stylized as N/A) is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer originally from New Orleans, and currently based in Nashville. She was originally discovered online by Better Than Ezra frontman and hit songwriter, Kevin Griffin, who enticed Nicole to move to Nashville and become a full time writer and producer. In mid-2024, Nicole set out to re-establish herself as an artist through a genre she coined, 'grunge pop,' blending the raw, unfiltered energy of post-grunge, 90s alternative rock with the haunting melodies of modern pop. Drawing inspiration from 90s nostalgia, her music is a reflection of a generation caught between the fading innocence of the past and the digital complexities of the present. With a sound that fuses gritty guitar riffs and introspective lyrics, Nicole captures the tension between emotional vulnerability and self-discovery. Her songs echo themes of loss, longing, and the fragility of memory.

This is so frickin hard to say this, because this girl is so talented with a beautiful voice, and her guitar playing isn’t just 3 open chords, she’s and very good player, and she knows chord inversions up and down the neck. But, this isn’t her best work. A little off on the vocals. Great song, great girl, just maybe not the greatest match. So what tho. Nobody hits a home run every time. I would love to hear her do a version of Spoons Inside Out. I think she would take that song to a great place.

@ yes, it’s not bad. Not at all. It’s actually good. It’s just not the best you’ve done. It could also be maybe the drumbeat doesn’t match the intensity of the song. Idk. I listened to it 3 times, and it sounded better each time. lol. That’s how it is with music tho. If I were a record company A and R guy, I would sign you in a heartbeat. Faster than you can say “swift”. Please go look up that song by Spoon. There is a great live version of it from Austin City limits. There is also a band called Goose, who do a great cover of it. Inside Out. Check it out.
