Thank you for the good video! I currently have the 7220A, I was also looking for the factory settings, given that it seems to be the same operating system, can I also access the factory settings by doing the same ? I want to be able to calibrate my thermal probe (the external one) if I decide to get another one Kind regards.
You don't want to mess with the PID factory settings unless you can't adjust the heat output the normal way first. You want to match the heat output at the nozzle to the heat setting in your profile. The internal thermo-couples have an allen lock screw. If you move the TC toward the center ,less heat will come out. It you move the TC back, more heat will come out. Hello, everything is good, great video, it is worth buying a rework station to buy boards and computers to recover and resell, will it be profitable to the point that I can recover the investment of acquiring the machine, can I make money with this?
If you are removing components only and do not need to re-install them. You can get the much lower cost machine. Yes, you can make money with these machines. We have been in business providing rework services for 31 years.

THANK YOU so much for these videos. I have recently began working with the SRT Summit 1100 and I am the only one in the place who can use the machine.........except I really can't since I haven't had the time to learn too much about profiles and I have been relying on the ones previously created, and just the fact that the machine did what it was supposed to do. For two days the machine has been over-heating and parts falling off, mis-alignments, and just total chaos and no one there can help. It happened about a month ago too yet strangely the issue resolved and I still don't know why. I am assuming it's a profile issue so these two demos on this machine are really appreciated. Thanks for taking the time.

Hi Dennis, many thanks for the answer to my question regarding washing the water soluble flux from under the BGA. We do have an ultrasonic cleaner that we bought for this reason, but my concern is verifying the flux has actually been removed and will not cause issues in the field. As of now, we are still using a "no clean" process. Thanks again!!
Thank you Jeana, Visually you can use an Ersa Scope to look through the rows of solder balls and inspect for residues. However, even an invisible film can cause surface leakage. I would suggest that you purchase dummy components and boards. Install the BGA, clean and then remove it. Then visually inspect for solder flux residue and perform a surface resistance test. That way you can qualify your process with higher pH fluxes.
Dennis, I like the new hangouts. Can you show the process of washing these highly active fluxes from under the BGA?
Hi Jeana, Thank you for you comment. For the Amtech water wash fluxes all you need to do is flush out under the BGA with hot water. The best method is to use a heated Ultrasonic Caner. See this link: www.ebay.com/itm/220946994415?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT If you can't afford a cleaner yet, then you can soak in hot water in a sink for about ten minutes. Then rise out with running water. Blow off PCB and under chip with air, then bake in a forced air oven for 30 minutes at 90C. I will discuss and demo for you on our next broadcast.
