@@mikebaldwin2978 Rev Ch 12 is a good start! And Jn 19:26-27 should give us good reason to make her a part of our life too. In order to speak from the Cross, b/c the blood pooling in his lungs was suffocating Him, He actually had to push Himself up off the nails in His hands, which pulled at the nail in His feet, in order to speak. Do you think He just forgot about the practical needs of His Mom until that moment? Or do you think the omnipotent God used His final moments, and chose to amplify His pain beyond what we can imagine, to give us all a Mother? Those words were not just for John, they were to all of us. Christ’s death happened so that we could be born into eternal life. If we are being born again and have a Father, this is Christ giving us a humble Mother. The one who stayed when almost all the brave and manly apostles abandoned Him. We all need a Mother who stands with us in our worst moments, and then leads us, like she did on that day for John, to the pierced side of Christ. That’s why we want Mary in our life… but why pray to her if she’s just human and we can pray directly to Jesus? We know that in Heaven we are more alive than we are on earth and Rev 5:8 tells us that the elders held out bowls of incense to The Lamb, “which are the prayers of the holy ones”. When we ask one of the holy ones, Saints and Mary, to pray for something, those prayers are brought before Jesus and rise to Him like incense. Many prayers are a good thing! Not just my prayer to Jesus Himself, but my prayers to Him from all those in Heaven as well! 2 Cor 1:11 says God grants blessings “in answer to MANY prayers”. We don’t have to limit ourselves. There is only 1 mediator between God and man, but we all (on earth and those alive in heaven) can offer prayers to our 1 mediator, Jesus Christ.

Considering it's just talking to the God who turned death on the cross into the greatest triumph, it really is the best first step! :)

Hi Elle! What Noelle is getting at, is when we open our hands in surrender to the Lord, it's then that we become open to receive His help, His love, and His grace that we needed all along!

@@thewayoftherosary Why should she have to beg for Grace? Wouldn’t a loving God give that freely?

@@elleaubry3772 He does! In prayer, we sometimes “beg” God for a specific thing. And that thing might not actually be what’s in our best interest. Trusting God means that we surrender our plan to Him. So in Noelle’s story, she first begged God and it didn’t turn out the way she wanted it to, then she realized that she didn’t want her plan, she wanted God’s plan. She gave Him all she had and He reminded her that He does the same. He gave Noelle ALL He has! All His grace and peace, but she needed to open her hands, in a sense, so that she could receive what God was trying to give her.

@@thewayoftherosary So a person never knows if you have to beg God for help or if he’s just going to give it out of the goodness of his heart? It’s pretty wishy-washy if you ask me. I can’t follow a violent God or one who impregnates little girls, Or one who constantly makes you beg for his assistance.

@@elleaubry3772 No, I think you're missing the point. We don't have to beg God. We have to just continually offer what we have and all we are, back to God. It's a posture of holding all we have with open hands and allowing God to do His will in us. When we have this posture of openness, then we're able to receive what God is always trying to give us. The only thing wishy washy is my own desire to give God all I have and be open to His will. God doesn't make you beg. Prayer isn't begging, it's conversation with a friend. God doesn't make bad things happen, but He allows the broken world (broken b/c of our choices) to unfold and offers everything we need to weather the brokenness, but He doesn't force it on us, we have to be willing to receive it, to be open. Bad things happen no matter if you walk with God or walk alone... But when we walk with God and allow Him to be God in our life, He will provide all we need.
