    Amazing year for movies, it was so stacked! I'm too young to actually remember it at the time (I was only 1) but what a start to the millennium it was.     When you consider what else Hollywood was offering to adolescents and teens in 1977 (Freaky Friday, Winnie the Pooh, Disney re-releases, Viva Knievel, Benji 2?), it's no wonder Star Wars became a generation-defining phenomenon. It was as if every other PG movie was 'stuck' in 1972 and then Star Wars YANKED the collective imagination forward in time so hard we never got over it. I was 7 that year, and I can barely remember what else I cared about before SW. I feel fortunate to have experienced it when I did, how I did. GenX = the luckiest generation.
