Is the temperature the same for a slump inside a mold vs. draping over the outside$
My set screw seems stuck and stripped. Do you know of any way to get it out? I’ve tried all the regular ideas (rubber band, superglueing the Allen wrench inside, ect). Do you know if this will work even with the screw in there?
Where did you get those bowls? I can’t find them anywhere.
Mark, I’m trying find a lamp mold. I watched your video!! You mentioned ikea. I found one on there site only. Yours has no rim.. and could you also measure the flat circular top. Anyway any help would be great. You always drape and not slump?
Could you share what size stainless steel bowl to purchase and that you used on these bowls they are beautiful
What did you use as a Zipp over the mold?
I used ZYP for a release.
Thank you, thank you! My set screw was out, and it still wouldn’t budge. I really appreciate your help…I have never even heard of this tool 😂, but bought it and my son got the bit off!
SWEET! So glad it worked for you!
Hi Mark. Today RUclips suggested your video. Well, after watching one, I subscribed, then, watched every video you’ve produced. Awesome work. I even learnt a few pointers. I, too, was a professional photographer for many years, commercial work, ship load outs, anything on the Mississippi River in New Orleans. Now, I fell in love with fused glass. I’m self taught. It’s been 5 years now. I wake up excited to create with my glass. Bullseye 99% of the time. I just wanted to give a shout out and say Thank You. I’m going to try the float glass with Zyp to get that super smooth bottom! You are not alone with kilns throughout your house. Happy fusing. Best regards, Debbie Z
Thanks Debbie! Glad you found the videos helpful. I agree that glass is so addictive. I can't imagine not working with glass or creating something. If I'm not in the studio then I'm thinking about the next piece. \Your comment made me realize I've been slack in updating content so thanks for that! MK
Best fix EVER! Thank you for this video!
Glad it helped!
Interesting....I have always hated the shelf marks. I'm gonna have to play with the float glass concept. I don't have a sandblaster. Would the float glass still help me out?
Thank you for this video. I was so frustrated with my frozen bit. 30 minutes and 13 bucks later and I was back on track.
Back in business! Glad it worked for you!
Beautiful work
I just did this!!!!!!! MAGICAL!!!! It worked like a charm!!!
SWEET! Glad it helped!
Great idea and I love the pattern and colors on the bowls, they are beautiful!
Thank you!
Hadn't thought of doing it this way. Thank you for sharing.
Also, what's the former? I would love to get one

Thank you for this! I haven't been able to find many resources to troubleshoot using the sleeve puller & this was perfect. I was able to get my frozen grinder bit off!
Awesome! Glad it worked for you!
Thank you Mark. I am really anxious to try this, They are so beautiful.
At 30 sec in I notice your shelf has large hollow channels. I've never seen a shelf like that. Can you say anything about it? Thanks for your vid!
Hi and thanks for the comment! The shelf is a corelite shelf. Its an extruded shelf and is super flat.
@@markkinsella2906 Thanks Mark..... where'd you find it as I've never seen them.
Google Corelite shelf and you'll find a bunch of places that sell them. I've purchased a couple from Fused Glass Warehouse www.fusedglasswarehouse.com/Kiln-Shelf-Accessories_c24.htm
Hi, I am enthralled with your stacked glass pattern bar it is absolutely beautiful. My question is, it appears there is space between the stacks of glass yet when you show the slices there are no spaces, how can that be, what am I missing. Thank you.
The spaces leave room for the glass to flow. A pattern bar fires hot enough and long enough for all the gaps to fill in.
Can adding glue work for securing the stingers in that large piece with the green and white stringers? Or does the glue cause clouding etc etc ? Thank you for such great tutorials, they really help me as a novice.....I also like seeing what kilns you are using, it helps too. 💜
The large piece is actually made with 1/4"strips cut from sheet glass and fused together. No glue is necessary. I have another video that shows how I cut strips you should check it out!
Absolutely beautiful work one day maybe thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
This was a great informative video, thank you. I won't return bc I don't like screaming, but thanks anyway.
I am not clear why you just don't use the Morton square with the ruler already printed with allowance for glass cutter. This is way more work than needed: morton ruller square and stops and I am ready to cut strips in minutes and all the exact same size. Your method does not allow for minor differences cutting manually. Millimeters can mean strip that don't match.
Because I have an older Morton system that does not have the Morton square and ruler that accounts for the glass cutter so this method actually saves me time.
me needed
How do you move the strip piece to the kiln without it falling apart?
I build it no thin fire which is on a piece of cardboard and carefully move that into the kiln. Then I carefully slide the cardboard out from under the project and tighten it back u.
@@markkinsella2906 thank you!
Hermoso!
Mark, we were in the same class on glass raking and pot melts! Thank you for making me my jewelry from my scraps!
Hi Jane!
Your work is wonderful....such a talent! And, you even make great pie, as well! Just spent time with my two friends that were also in class...we were watching this video together. They send their warm wishes as well!
@@janecashen8472 Hi Jane! Happy Holidays!
Wonderful thank you 🙏
I use the Morton system as well and cannot cut a straight line without burring or breaking on a long piece to save my soul I agree that it looks super easy when you do it , of course! Patricia
at what temps do you fire the glass to make the bars?
How wonderful👏👏
Wonderful!
Thanks Terry Ow-Wing!
Beautiful work thanks for sharing.
Super ! :-)
Wonderful inspiration! What's the story on the lap grinder? The used tire makes me think it'shome made.
BillsBayou it’s there to keep the glass from flying off. The lap grinder is from Hisglass in Asheville and they used to have plans to build one.
Great idea
Una sugerencia podría poner sub título( todo@s no sabemos inglés gracias
When you do this video every thing looks so easy but when I do this it breaks with burrs and never breaks straight I never know what I am doing wrong Seems to me I do exactly what you do but no luck Can you shed some light on my problem?
I have the same problem and no one seems to have an answer. Foolishly, I had a taurus 1 that worked beautifully and I gave it away. It never gave me a problem but I had to have the newer one -- so you know the rest. I so wish I had the old one back. Not only the cutting problem, but it spews water so badly you can't see the pattern no matter what, and no, I haven't overwatered it and I have a splash guard. I am very disappointed in this saw to say the lest. I feel I have wasted a lot of money.
@@judyzelsman9709 ,I was seriously considering the Taurus 3 but now I'm not sure, will need more research, thanks.
