The film's a metaphor for the existential infertility of our times, the random killing etc. is because in the face of hopelessness and lack of belief in a future, humanity has fallen prey to accepting fear into their hearts & subsequently fascism. There's multiple tableaus / imagery throughout the dystopian setting that are taken from famous photos of real-life war crimes and suchlike.

The tangent before the episode instead of at the end threw me off a bit, but it fits either way. Starting to think Ethan is just like spagingi lore, a fragment of Dylan’s imagination 🗿

Was not expecting an Albert Camus reference in a western movie review 😅 Korean movies are great, I’m a sucker for whatever Choi Min-Sik is in, as well as the Raid movies (action and fight choreography). After watching old spaghetti westerns with grandpa, I decided to get into some books of the same schtick. I made the mistake of starting with Blood meridian by Cormac McCarthy, strongly recommend it, but man it is graphic, 10/10 will not read again for a while.

You are right there are so many great PS2 games to pick from. The PS2 was my first console, so I'm probably a bit bias. 😅 Trust me we wouldn't want to force anything, so it would only be stuff that we find fun. Dylan and I just booted up Metal Slug X for Ethan right now, per your recommendation, and he is having a wild time with it! 😂

As long as you guys have a good time with the play throughs and it doesn’t feel forced, I’d be down to check it out. I grew up with a ps2, so God Hand is definitely a good one, total overdose, motocross mania, burnout takedown, digimon rumble arena, manhunt, SSX tricky. So much to pick from, but I will check out that metal slug episode, X is probably my favorite.

I don’t know what hurts more, Cade being a bug sympathizer, or Spagingi lore not being real…right cheek maxing until the end nonetheless. If you guys end up doing Golden boy (please do, it’s so very educational) watch the dub version, it’s one of my all time favorites. For Ethan,if you’re enjoying frieren I think delicious in dungeon might be for you. If you want something a little more serious though, black lagoon, jormungand, Pluto, aldnoah zero might pique your interest. As for Naruto, if you’d like to get into it again, some benevolent soul made something called The ocean cut, where they got rid of all the filler. Only main plotline in a couple hours chunks, digestible. Ps. Funny enough, the end of evangelion episode was the first episode I listened to on this podcast. My third eye cliboris was tickled. I had gone to see the movie in theaters the night before and I wanted to see if some poor soul had seen it without prior context and maybe reviewed it on a podcast somewhere.

You guys seem confused about Hathaway method and goals of doing this assassinations is because in Char’s Counter Attack Char’s goal was to drop asteroid on earth to make the earth uninhabitable to force all humans to leave the Earth so that they’ll change to Newtypes and also the Earth will be able to recover from the pollution Char came to this conclusion because the Earth Federation still ignore and continue to cause the pollution despite him giving a speech in Mobile suit Gundam Zeta about the it.Until today I’m still quite amazed about this innocent young boy Hathaway that got involved in the war that scar him for life and also changed him into the warrior that he is inherit the will of Char and Amuro he was there when Amuro foolishly trying to pushed back against the asteroid he witnessed the miracle called the Axis shock a magic phenomenon coming from the Amuro’s Nu Gundam Psycho Frame that was overwhelmed with Amuro’s emotions with countless others that managed to push the asteroid away with the cost of Amuro and Char’s lives after that Hathaway lives on seeing things did not changed for the better the Earth Federation never learned from the war that nearly caused a nuclear winter they tried to cover up the miracle and Amuro’s sacrifice keeps on covering up Newtypes existence all for their own power and now in UC105 they are forcing the lower privileges class to pay for their earth permit or else they’ll ship them of earth and also shipping those those that are undesirable trying to turn Earth a place for the higher privileges only so Hathaway decided to take a stand against the Earth Federation to not let all the lives that was lost in Char’s Rebellion be for nothing he inherit Char’s goal of forcing all humans o leave the earth so that it will recover but he also inherit Amuro’s hope in humanity so that instead of him throwing down the asteroid like Char that would fuck a lot of people he decided to do it in a kind of peaceful and less lethal way possible by assassinating the Cabinet Ministers to force all humanity to leave the earth and to change the corrupt system.If you say why he don’t protest against them because the Earth Fertility will suppress those that stand against them so that’s why Hathaway decided to use force against them
