Hi Peter. Great stuff! I’d never heard the Neville Brothers cover before so I’ve just given it a listen. Those vocals are beautiful! I’ll be looking for a copy of that album. Love seeing the Australian 45’s. “Time Is Tight” never gets old. And you can’t go wrong with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings. “100 Days 100 Nights” is certainly one of their best records. “Grazing In The Grass” is a cracking way to end the night. I heard some reports & stories about these issues prior to the U.S box sets being released in Australia 🇦🇺& honestly I was not keen on getting the entire box set itself!, but just before Christmas I tried hunting down the original pressed or a later issue of the U.S "A Hard Day's Night" soundtrack album but couldn't find it anywhere at fairs or secondhand record shops around Sydney so I reluctantly took a punt on buying a separately sold new mono remastered U.S "A Hard Day's Night" album (made in France) from Red Eye Record shop in Town Hall Sydney for $70, took it home, carefully unwrapped the shrink-wrap & played it on my red Audio-technica AT-LP60X record player & it played smoothly with no skips at all!, I think it's just the sheer luck of the draw?... it all depends on how well it's pressed?, some are good & some are not good, I'm 1 of the lucky 1's.😉

I wonder whether anyone out there has tried these on a high end mono cartridge? The generalised issue is simply not acceptable!
@@stephenchen1420 as I said the problems occur in the same spots with both my mono & stereo cartridges.

Hey Peter; I also enjoy the Love album, interesting to see the Joe Jackson cd from 1984. I went along to see him in Bradford, Uk around the time of his hit “ Is She Really Going Out With Him”. Not really my thing but he was great. Would love you to show your Deep Purple cd collection sometime. All the best to you and yours for the festive season 👍

Love the Mushroom tshirt, we almost used that as our label! The Swing is a fantastic album. We had no idea there was a die cut sleeve version, we only have the US and Japan pressings of that, but sadly no die cut. Will have to hunt one of those down for sure. And thanks so much for the shout out!

Was disappointed when they changed it though the 80's variant did seem to fit the aesthetic of the 'new wave' movement. "The Swing" by INXS is I think my favourite of theirs. Hi Peter, just watched you Vinyl Tag. Great to meet you. Love that you’re a drummer and you picked The Swing by INXS. Another one I thought of later was Midnight Oils Kosciusko. Yours obviously a deep Purple fan. I only have Shades and Machine Head. Maybe I need to check out some more. Thanks for the shout out and video response.

4:43 - is that the Revolve Records which used to have a store in Erskinville, but I nnow understand are a full on-line stoe? See too many stores go that way, including Lawson's & one in King's Cross whose name escapes me at the moment.

That first one - the Elvis Presley album, I remember buying that for my old man as a present back in the 1970s. The old chap had only just decided that he was an Elvis fan at that time. Back in the late 1950s, when he was about 30, he probably couldn't stand the subversive, teen corrupting Elvis. 🫤

2:05 I find Capitols pressed by EMI in UK sound better, like Beach Boys Greatest Hits vol. 2.

Been to both fairs too!, John's fair at Glenbrook was great & bought a few good gems but I was a bit disappointed with Glebe fair cos so much stuff that I wanted to get was so insanely expensive!!, AC/DC,Easybeats & other Australian artists, I only bought just a few gems that were reissues including an Easybeats album at a reasonable price but the original 1's were just too overpriced & not in best condition & didn't bother with them, 1 rare item I got for $60 was the 6 cassette tape version of The Beatles Box from Glebe fair.
@@beatlefancraig67 why are Australian AC/DC Albert's LP's & singles so expensive? What makes them so collectable? I've never understood that. They aren't scarce. I own the first 2 since original purchase and I have quite a few of those 45's. Can you shed some light on this? Cheers 😊👍
@peterx1957 I think it's because now they are becoming more expensive & collectable cos Bon Scott & Malcolm Young have passed away, also with Easybeats losing Stevie Wright,George Young & now Dick Diamonde, The Beatles with only 2 left & The Monkees with only 1 left, most albums by these famous popular band are so crazily expensive cos their all still popular & loved & some albums particularly original pressings are now rare & collectable all these years later, but $800 for a rare AC/DC album, $90 for an original Parlophone pressed Easybeats album & $1,200 for an Australian second press black & gold print labelled Beatles Please Please Me album is a bit too much even with a worn-torn flimsy cover?, some sellers are just plain money-hungry cos they overestimate the value way too much!!, yeah perhaps in another 40-60 years but not now??
@@beatlefancraig67 maybe but the AC/DC situation is the one I didn't quite understand. You might be right that it's the Bon Scott era one's in particular. Original Beatles records have been expensive for a long time particularly first press PPM's and yeah try finding one without a beat up cover. I do have one myself with slightly faded labels too. Hi Peter I'm only a youngster born in 58 but like you The Beatles especially John Lennon have and will always be a major influence on my life. We are like peas in a pod but with totally different Beatle tastes,which is a good thing. Anyway keep spreading the Beatles love and good to see you back.✌️❤️

Hey Peter; great to see you back with another heartfelt video. I was also born in July 1957 and The Beatles fired my love of music; they have always been my favourite band. I was right in step with you on your answer to the final question, so difficult to put into words when a band means so much to us emotionally. @@peterx1957 It is very hard. I did mine but only for the Chronicles years. You may remember me, Morton Hughes, now going by Jack Flash. I considered all the genres of music from that era. Rock, Country, Folk etc But you make your list however you wish.
