I appreciate you watching. Liberals are everywhere just as conservatives are. I have some amazing friends in Sandpoint that are liberals but the vast majority of my friends are conservatives.

Thank you for watching. There are definitely paths to home ownership in North Idaho and no you don’t need to make tons of money, even though that does make it easier. I’ve helped several locals. You don’t make a bunch of money get into a home that they love.

@@Ben_Genaetta I live in Coeur d alene, but i have a sister in Sandpoint who i visit. My mom and stepdad who lived in Sandpoint died of old age. When i retire i want to move a 1,000 miles south in the middle of nowhere because city lights is bad for astronomy.

Coeur d'Alene is a great option if you want winter but not a LOT of winter. Have you ever lived in the snow?

Just like anywhere, the town is more liberal however the rural area is very conservative. Have you lived here or do you live here?

@@Ben_Genaetta I live in St Maries. In about seven years after my wife’s contract is over she wants to live in CDA because of my health and the hospital took care of me there. Spent weeks there.

It's beautiful down there. I love St. Marines. I've heard really positive things about Kootenai health, and it's good to hear another positive story. What bright you to north Idaho?

Don't move to Sandpoint, it's ridiculously expensive.

I haven’t dove to the bottom of the lake but what I have found on several websites and publications…part of the lake goes down to 800 feet. Have you gone to the bottom of the lake or have an official depth record?

@@Ben_Genaetta just the fact you do not see the problem is in fact the problem why did you move here ? to have a nice safe friendly place to raise your children? the small town life quiet ? well what you are doing is ruining the very thing you moved here for ! and ruining it for everyone else but do you care? evidently not. Living in Idaho is a way of life one of the last places in the USA to find this way of life if this way of life is not for you OK go find someplace that suits you like a big city where you can sell all the real estate you want and NOT ruin anything but please quit ruining this place pretty simple yes?

I disagree, I love winter. After 30 years in AZ, I love the cold. It does get annoying about city beach on how crowded it gets. We tend to avoid it during July and the beginning of August and find other spots. Where did you move from?

@@Ben_Genaetta Left Cali for Texas...but want to move all the way back to America to retire and forget about this mess. Have a good friend in Coeur d'Alene also. Looking for house/property in hills around Sandpoint. One fell through cuz I couldn't access money before it sold. Rearranging things and looking still...found a couple fixer-uppers I need to get out to see...this summer I hope. And I really liked your vid. I just see them creating Los Angeles up there...crossed with Aspen. Luckily I'm old and will pass before that works itself out :O)

@TheDogPa Ihv seen more and more people from TX start to love this way. I really hope Sandpoint doesn’t turn into LA. I could see more of an Aspen setting because of ownership of the resort now. This one is listed at 675,000. The big garage is 60 x 30 and it’s heated insulated with power. The other shop is 30 x 40. Do you have a need for shop?

@Ben_Genaetta To be fair, real estate is ridiculous everywhere. But, if the market doesn't crash, I'll buy a plot of land and build my own home, or drop a fifth wheel on it. Just not sure where yet.

I’m on the other side but had family in North Idaho and spent some summers there and still do. I almost opened up silverwood back in the day and remember people thought it was crazy. Hopefully 95 will be four lanes all the way to Sandpoint soon because at times in the summer forget about left turns.

@MegaZboo Silverwood has come a long way, and it’s great to see how things evolve over time. I completely agree about Hwy 95-expanding it would make a huge difference, especially during those busy summer months. What happened where you didn’t open it?

My family and I as a kid went there the first year it opened. Almost no one was there on that nice summer day and everyone had a seat to themselves on the train with many seats vacant. I remember we talked about being glad we went because thinking the park was going to fail badly.

@MegaZboo oh wow! Certainly not the case anymore. They keep expanding as well. Great place to spend the day with the family during the summer.

Happened here on Kaua`i. Yes, I'm a transplant, moved here 50 years ago when most people moving here were content to rent or who wanted a simple homesite with a few papaya trees. Now, people move here, buy 2 or 3 homes, rent out 2 to make money and live in third. Or maybe work from home and not contribute to work market here. But our median is $1.4M!!!

It sounds like you have deep roots in Sandpoint and have witnessed a lot of changes over the years. What are some of the things that originally made living in Sandpoint worthwhile for you?

I wish they were lower because the area is very expensive now.

People pay them and put themselves in debt slavery for life. Stupid, especially when you factor all the other cost associated with a home.

that is awesome! You guys will love the area. Amazing place to raise your family. We couldnt have picked a better place to raise our kids.
