Serving in a new role at camp this year allowed me to invest in ways that I haven’t before. After Matt shared his thumbprint after agree/disagree, I had the opportunity to open up to my tribe and tell them my thumbprint. I remember specifically saying, “here’s my number; I don’t care what time- night, day, 3am or 1:15pm- call me if you ever need someone.” I told them that I’d be there for them no matter what needed to be done. The next day, I was running camera for Erin and Sami came and told me that there was a camper in the bathroom asking for me by name. I didn’t know their name at the time, but we quickly became friends. Over the next two days at camp, we worked through 2 panic attacks together and this camper even did the trust fall at low ropes (after climbing down once) and did the Wall with no issues at all. Sunday I received an affirmation card saying, “it normally takes me awhile to open up to people, but when you said you’d be there, I just believed you. When I grow up, I want to be like you!” And I can’t remember the last time I cried that hard, to be able to have that kind of impact on someone’s life is incredibly humbling and is 150% my RYLA Moment of 2019. 💕

Preston's RYLA moment (because he doesn't have a RUclips account to comment with): My RYLA moment was probably the low ropes. It gave me the opportunity to conquer challenges of my own and then turn around and help many others overcome their own obstacles. As the song lyric says, "when you get where you're going, don't forget turn back around, and help the next one in line. Always stay humble and kind."

Favorite RYLA moment was getting to know people and connect to them in ways I never would’ve thought to be possible. No place other than RYLA could’ve done that!

My favorite RYLA moment was going over the wall. I know alot of people probably say that, but on the wall I was scared and I overcame that. The moment I went over the wall I realized I had been living my life in fear and afraid of rejection. RYLA helped me realize that not only am I loved but I have purpose and even though I am young and scared of somethings I can overcome those fears to make a change. Also that I was not alone trying to make a change but I had a group of people there to help everyone grow.

Cereal here " What my favorite moment was getting about to met new people that accept who I am, what I've done since I left ryla was being able to spread positivity towards others it's what I enjoy most and have now made a speech on it I challenge myself every day to improve the lives of other and make them positive too. Already have a it's a new day shirt absolutely love it there's a different one thats yellow and says " Spread kindness like it's confetti " That I would love to have - thank you cereal 🤙
