Only reason I'd buy a box of any of these sets is if they go on sale otherwise singles all the way

I’m only collecting the 1-5 season duel monster cards (first in QCR rn, then the unlimited prints/1st ed that aren’t in QCR in the future, also buying some ghost cards too for my collection (Ghost cards r hella expensive but I just bought eye of timaeus and Sphere Ra) (1 of each for me,unless I need to reach free shipping, so I myself definitely won’t consume a lot of nostalgia cards from bonanza) Edit: The QCRs will definitely drop down later, Some might stay high but drop significantly still compared to what it was before…like BEWD (would rather buy 2 more anime ones the one I like…at $50 than 1 at $90)

Interesting to hear your perspective on the QCRs being overvalued. Not sure where they’ll settle and not sure if you’ve looked into the math, but at 3-4 nostalgia QCRs per box, it takes 1200-1600 packs to pull any given nostalgia QCR. Compared to the 1/50 odds for a given QCR in the tins, the price difference starts making sense. Really appreciate the videos! You’re really the only one doing market watches like these from the collector POV, and I’m always looking forward to them 🫡

I’ve been picking up as many QCRs I can (Also need to get gold sarcophagus, Waiting for bonanza for some of the higher cards to see if they go down) Ordered 20+ QCRs from the anime now I wait and find the right glossy/thick back colored sleeves (have an idea of who to try) so my cards don’t warp as easily (gonna binder all my QCRs)

The only logical thing I can think of for the reprints is that in 2020, a lot of money flowed into collectibles via PPP loans, stimulus checks, and unemployment. That inflated everything, this 25 century reprint Holocaust has tried to bring prices back down to what they were pre-covid19 pandemic. Certain cards will continue to hold value like ultimate rare Dark Armed Dragon, 1st edition Stardust/Black Rose. The newer stuff is in tremendous danger of dropping 50%-80%.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself with not picking up Exodia when it was cheap, Konami has a history of printing high rarity Exodia heads and excluding the limbs. Look at the ultimate rare version of Exodia head, the limbs didn't get a reprint.

The reason Dark Magician costs more than other modern ghosts and should cost more is because of the foiling. Most ghosts have all kinds of issues. My local store had one for about half a year and it just looked a million times better than the other ghosts from this era.

Wow Dark magician ghost is way undervalued. Very nice. I guess I’ll have to consider buying in black friday.

Tbh I was actually a bit surprised that ultimate dragon of pride and soul has the price it does. It was expecting it to be a bit pricier.

I feel like I should like raigeki but they had to put them far away to get the big beam and dragon on the card making it not good. Harpies alt is ok like it more then raigeki. Limited removal is quite good with the cyber end dragon which doesn’t get talked about.

Haha you and I have the exact opposite tastes in the alt arts. I find the Raigeki and Harpie's beautiful and amazing, but the Red-Eyes a bit derpy. That alt art DMG is also one of my favorites compared to the one from last year's tins. I AM shocked that the QCR version is so much cheaper though.

the other signer dragons were printed in QCRs in previous tin and one of them in RA01 and Conmoney explicitly mentioned that they wont reprint QCRs in the same rarity in bonanza. Been saving spaces for these remaining QCRs and finally able to complete them!

BEWD hit 20 and bounced back to 24/25 already, cant wait further and bought myself a playset, same with the primastic alt arts

Only thing about retro pack is it’s retail stores only and they only get 3 cases a store and it was only Walmart target and meijer that got them and most are already sold out and the actual booster boxes only the card shops that bought every Yugioh product almost ever get them that’s why they are so expensive

I got MAGIA when it was 400. I’m glad i did. It’s a fair price. BUT people are getting desperate because the new OCG structure deck support made blue-eyes a top contender. making turn 1 MAGIA is very good. So it’s playable in the future. And yugioh TCG being cocky not printing this in a secret or ultra, says a thousand words about TCG. Will this get reprinted? YES, but when? That’s why people get this copy to be ready for blue-eyes meta. Good marketwatch!✅

I think Toon BLS is gonna get reprinted in the tins as a prismatic secret, considering it was in BLCR which is on the list of sets to be reprinted, and everything in their has already been reprinted (except for clockwork night). Red-Eyes Flare ghost is absolutely beautiful, sad to see it drop so much, might pick up 2 more and get a playset for the collection

If DMG ghost was uncensored, I would have picked up multiple of them

Toch 1st edition may rebound in time; that set is hard to find and is very much loved

That OG art red eyes does have a QCR from the 2023 mega tins so I'm surprised the ghost one is going up when there's a cheap alternative in a high rarity.
