I'll never forgive the Islanders for making it to the Stanley Cup quarterfinals so many years ago, cancelling JDenver show and leaving me with a bucket list always with one lost wish. 🙏

In 1972 I moved from Michigan to New York and was distraught at having to leave the woods and lakes that I loved so much. John Denver was my connection back to all that I loved. My son recently moved to Golden Colorado and I just returned from a 5 day trip to visit him and we went fishing up in the high Alpine lakes and streams that I’d heard JD sing about and his lyrics were alive within me. So ironic that my sister should send me this song today after my return to Long Island. JD has been a part of my life and my love of nature for 54 years. A true gift. Thank you JD.

OMG, how gifted this man was!! So magical...the amazing words that come out of his soul so effortlessly in such a soothing melody and tone - just so genuine and pure...and sublime!! His love for our nature is indisputable and no one has ever dedicated their songs to mother earth like him!! It might take a few more years for the world to understand how much our generation and the future generations are gonna miss this gifted man!! RIP John!!

Such a beautiful song. It is a song that is very needed for our country right now. When our country is in such a mess, this song needs to be played again and again, and all people need to listen to EVERY work. John was a talent that ahead of every artist of his time. A very tragic loss. I will miss him greatly. Rest In Peace John Denver. Your music is still Revelation today.

I think they are laughing with him because he was visibly trying to remember the lyrics of this song that he finished writing under the wire. That definitely does happen. And with a song that has so many words and verses, it's a lot to do without much time to practice. That's why he made that long introduction- to prepare his audience for the possibility of just such a moment. And to bring them along. They were totally with him and not at all laughing at his vulnerability. Very impressive that he didn't have more screw-ups than just the one. The outpouring response when he finishes the song makes that clear as well.

This song seems to me the essence of what it means to be present with nature. A song that wanted to express itself when it was ready-let's always appreciate the gifts our environment gives us.

I was so lucky to see John Denver when he came to Australia..beautiful voice, everyone adored him. ..he is the best entertainer I have ever seen..will never forget him.❤
