Frikkin' Beatles. Why don't Boomers just call yourselves The Beatles Generation? Moving Pictures by Rush smokes any boring Beatles record. So does The Wall. Ghost In the Machine. If I Should Fall From Grace With God, Sensual World by Kate Bush, Learning To Crawl, several Marley albums... You're generation is the MOST DELUDED, that's for goddamn sure & you can't shut up about it. Led Zeppelin's 4th album, btw, has more depth and breadth than anything the Beatles made. Clue: The Beatles collective vision and intellect was never brave enough to surrender to emotional vulnerability. It will always have an aloofness to it, momentary Harrison creations notwithstanding. Joni Mitchell's Shadows & Light is miles above anything the Beatles created.

It’s still unbelievable. On the day before he passed away Dave and I had contact. He was hopeful and optimistic, realistic as well. He was happy to be home again. We will remember John. Thank you for this ‘in memoriam’.

Very eclectic choices today gentlemen….love the backstory of your choices , and how the music moves you. Cliff Richard, Elvis Costello, Genesis and Prince. Armando, I was in the LA Coliseum in 1981 when Prince opened for The Stones….there was more than beer bottles thrown at the band, but in hindsight, Prince knew exactly what he was doing….as he did come back for Day 2 ( thanks to Mick and Bill Graham). The rest is history. Btw…I share your sentiment about comparing Prince and MJ….there is none. Prince was a musical savant.

David Bowie: Diamond Dogs. I knew Rebel Rebel and loved it, but I was at a Halloween party eons ago and this is one of the albums they played that night and fell in love with the whole thing....Bill, Run For Your Life (Tarney Spencer Band) is a great album. I think you'd enjoy it. No Time To Lose was one of my favorite radio tunes from back in the day, heck it still is:)

You guys are great, thanks for doing this. Each day I'm happy to check out a new episode and am curious to which albums are picked. Many of the already mentioned albums are my favourites too (with notable exceptions of Steely Dan and Supertramp. No hate for these bands, they are just not my thing). Others really haven´t been on my music radar and I'm looking forward to check them out (like the XTC album mentioned in this episode)

The Boatman's Call - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Eurythmics was one of the most interesting bands coming out of the UK during the 80's. They had a unique blend of commercial pop with avant-garde undertones. Here's my ranking of all their studio albums: 1 In the Garden (criminally underrated - Sylvia Plath meets David Bowie meets German Kraut rock) 2 Sweet Dreams (are made of this) (ABBA meets Kraftwerk) 3 1984 - For the Love of Big Brother (innovative album that still sounds fresh) 4 Savage (should have been their masterpiece but too much filler) 5 Touch (good but not great follow-up to Sweet Dreams. Very Grace Jones vs Kraftwerk vibes) 6 Be Yourself Tonight (when they got a tiny bit too commercial - but still a very good album. All the songs could have been released as a single. 7 We Too Are One (love 'Don't Ask Me Why' - but that's about it) 8 Revenge (when they got way too commercial, almost American stadium rock) 9 Peace (a rather disappointing comeback - very adult contemporary)

The big 3 from Pink Floyd are easy favorites of mine too!
