Jock... the Fat Kings Cross tattoist playing the part of a tattooed fat bloke. He was horrible and a useless tattooist.
In addition to Madeleine Smith, I think it is George Camiller (Giovanni Cupello from Mind Your Language) in the first clip.
Watched this when aired, just getting into punk/new wave and was absolutely fascinated by Toyah.
Four months later….😢
Thanks for another rare upload

45:22 That is the most extravagant chewing of gum I have ever seen.
Great show -thanks for posting👍
I have been trying to find this Heavy Metal Kids song for years - 'The cops are Coming' from 1min 45
@@elainehawkins8697 It's on their 1975 Anvil Chorus album 👍🏻
God Bless Gary Holton R.I.P Always beautiful 🎤🎵 🤘🏼🕶️👖 👟 🏍️ 🕊️ 🙏🏻 ❤️💕 I can still hear the dulcet tones of Gary singing the Theme Tune to ‘Murphy’s Mob’ It was a great kids programme on ITV about a football team - happy days - it was a theme tune you always sang. For some reason not many kids programmes theme tunes had lyrics football ⚽️ 🥅 👏🏻 👏🏻
A lot of the incidental music was by Toyah too.
RIP Wayne. Aka London
Feel lucky to have been young then. Little did we know how much the world would go to absolute shit.
Great upload Just sub,
😂😂😂
I will never forget you Gary
If you like the soundtrack (which i did at the time) get the Toyah album "Sheep Farming in Barnet"
My favourite song of Toyah’s with great guitar, electric organ and drums as a finale. One of the best casts in the Shoestring series as mentioned with a host of well known faces.
Macho hippy jocks.😮
Were aĺl these actors under contract to the media company.
LOL!!!!! Cringe at it's best.
I lived with Donna for 6 months in 1978. I lost contact with her in the 80s, unfortunately.
✌️🥸💥🌟🌀👍
✌️🤠💥🌟🌀👍
Love from Norway, rock on Gary ❤
There are in fact 2 different versions of the theme, the version over the closing titles of series 1 is slightly slower & Gary's vocals are more animated & aggressive, notably when he sings 'cuz you can't play 'ere'. Also noticed on at least one episode that Gary's name is missing from the credits, instead there's a voiceover from the continuity announcer saying 'the title song is sung by Gary Holton'.
And Mick Jagger's brother too.
OMG I was 17 when this aired, I bought a thin tie and wore it loose, I though I was sooo coool
I think1960's fuelled music and drugs revolution in the world two movements mods/rockers and hippies and Rastafarians their genres of music were ska/ rock steady ,rock an' roll.rastas strictly roots music and ganja bob Marley king of reggae ska and rock steady.i noticed at Ruskin college in Oxford university their course study's reggae is under represented by Jamaican musicians from UK because of slavery/dislexia?
Gary Holton,Toyah,Christopher Biggins ,Pete Beale(before Eastenders)and Linda Bellingham. what a cast for an episode of shoestring.Would have been 3rd year of high school when this was aired. The good old days.
"THIRD YEAR"... At last someone who speaks my language Soooooo much easier to understand... Wtf did they change it James
I watched this all the time back when it came out. Great opening theme.
Man, what a find(!) Where did you unearth it?
I see Rolf Harris in background with his arms around two women.
Wank singer
One word Quadrophenia....Monkey.
This bloke was a man of many talents. Shame he isn’t with us any more. 🇬🇧
Gary was a black-haired Rod Stewart on the 80s Euro-cheese scene.
I love finding all these gems featuring Gary. Taken too soon and so missed. Oi oi what’s the word then? Love you man.
He took a swing at me man! I'd rather bed down with the Turks than you lot!
I got a trial for Jossy’s Giants
Would love to see the full episode
Hard to think they are both not with us.
I stood behind Pat Roach in a queue in Birmingham in the 1980s. He was wearing a 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' crew jacket, and he was big. I'm a big guy. I'm six foot tall. As you can no-doubt imagine, Pat was a bigger man than me.
One of British TV greatest ever shows especially this one. I love how they do three different jobs “Barry’s house, the manor and Ally’s Spanish villa pool”. I was so sad when Wayne died but was over the moon when the BBC picked it up which did the show proud
That Madeleine Smith
