The HE-MAN 2008 MOVIE - What could have been? A look at the script. (Audio Only)
The headline couldn't have been any more dramatic, huh? 😂
Tbh I began collecting origins like 3years back and I'm completely motu'ed out, I'm sick of the constant reissues and the obscure crappy character releases also I hate the mash up figs. Mattel is just grasping at straws I quit collecting motu like 5months ago. Revelations 1st season was awful, subsequent seasons were better. The new Shera series sucked, & unfortunately motu will never reach the same hieght as how it did in the 80s its just facts.
I have a 4 year old boy and 7 year old daughter that like the classic he man and sheera cartoons. They aren't obsessed, but they will ask me to put on the next episode.
People acting as if they have to buy every figure released. Their toys. It’s not that serious. And origins has been killing it!!!
For some fans, a collection is a very serious matter. Hobbies can be intense.
Masterverse is a great line.
I am appreciating them more than Classics, if I am being honest. They are easier to pose. I recently took some Classics out of storage and I don't think they are holding up well.
@ Yeah, Classics are on extremely outdated bucks.
The new snakemen that have been coming out were conceptualized during Classics and in my opinion Mattel is trying to capture the fans who bought classics but were not interested in Origins and Masterverse. Also why the Snake Lair "won" the fan vote. They are casting a wider net but are ignoring the larger holes in the net. I believe there are currently 16 vintage figures left to be released. 14 if you don't count the giants. For me personally I've enjoyed the Turtles of Grayskull line for the most part but thats because I was a turtles fan as a kid and turtles was my next collection after MOTU. I'm also looking forward to the thunder cats crossover. I don't have any of my old toys so being able to collect the line now appeals to me because it gives me the opportunity to get all my favorite brands in the same scale. I know I'm in the minority but I'm enjoying the journey aside from not getting the vintage vehicles and the horde playsets.
To me, here is an acceptable use of earth. Adam (on Eternia!!) is being told his destiny by the sorceress and he picks up the Power Sword and he is rushed with flashes of his destiny and origin and they show Marlena in a shuttle launching from earth and getting caught in a portal transporting her to Eternia where she crashes and is saved by Randor. Have the scene like 30-45 seconds long.
Love this idea, like a lot. It would be such a nice way to include some "easter eggs" as well as Adam receives these visions when he touches the sword. Something similar happened to Adora when she touched the sword of protection for the first time in Princesses of Power. It worked well for that given the show was restricted on how much they could use from the He-Man side of things.
47 here collecting since the 80s and must say the new cartoon collection is my favourite they have ever released
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it. It would still be cool to get a third season... perhaps "Rebellion" since they teased Despara (Adora) at the end.
good video team he man was designed for 8 y olds, and I was 13 then, so I passed also, comparing with the Joes, he was quite stiff and limited, only 5 points articulation he can t stand right, or sit convincingly. it s quite laughable, as real muscular guys are like that too, some can t drink from a glass, as their arms are too big to bend enough for the glass to reach their mouths... I liked the concept of few heroes, but many bad guys to gang up on he man, heroic. I say, the muscular era is gone! staying in shape is still cool, but Arnie s era has passed. a part of the public still has a great taste for it, but it s mostly lgbt + so Mattel needs to do a vibrating version to ride the worm. I think the legs s shape can stay original, but they could include rubber bands so he hangs on tight. a voice mechanism should be included ; aaaaah! yeaaaah! ouuuuuh! take that Skelketor! ha, ha! and don t get me started on she ra, her vibrant career should have started years ago. seriously ok, now they re more articulated, practical, realistic, but yeah, the stories need to reach pg 13 or nobody will pay the price they ask for them today. I think a solid script could get he man back in the game if done right. but a lot of characters don t cut it.... I d focus on the bad guy that has armies - clones - robots there were some good numbers mixed with the lazy designs, just trim hard! so now you know... God bless America and world peace good show team
I do agree that the “muscular” era of action figures has passed… but I think it could be brought back, if done right. Just got to find that sweet spot with proper marketing for the new age. We'll see! Maybe the movie will oddly be great and hit well.
Director Travis Knight is the main producer guy behind Laika Studios, who did Coraline (yay!) and Kubo & The Two Strings (bleh). I think they should aim for a family adventure like the first 1977 Star Wars. I need to see a cool transformation, and I want to see a world equally if high tech science and edritch sorcery. Alison Brie will be great!
Love all of this! Agreed!
it will suck and be woke
I absolutely hope they are awake in the movie. It would be weird if everyone is sleeping... unless DarkDream is the villain?
@masterscast ha ha cute smart ass 😆
I dont understand how people who adore the show and watched it as a kid and listened to all the PSA at the end of every episode can be so unexcepting of people, gender and skin color. Its really sad to see.
Agreed. The original Filmation cartoons had pro-social messaging built into the storylines and morals. This is nothing new to the property.
Kevin Smith and his daughter destroyed He-man and any future interest in this franchise PERIOD. All Woke DEI mutations of original IPs TMNT, Star Wars etc etc all dead.
Eh... there were also die hard fans working on the show too. Teela's journey was always to become the next Sorceress and it was a story that absolutely should be told. I think the issue with Revelation was balance. The Teela portion could have easily been a B story-line, with something more substantial for He-Man as the A.
It's going to happen and I can't be more excited. Glory days!
Very excited for its potential
June 5 is my birthday. That would be awesome. I love Alison Brie is one of my favorite actors. I am so excited.
Awesomesauce!
This popped up in my feed and everything Jon has brought up is how I have been feeling. I have been very overwhelmed on origins with all the weird snake men and feel really not wanting to buy them. I really started slowing down with my purchases and it is such a great idea about going back to the original line and filling in gaps. Great show everyone and great points.
I don't understand the disdain for King Grayskull
Stems from his debut in the Mike Young cartoon as just a beefier carbon copy of He-Man. It made He-Man seem less of a unique destiny for Prince Adam.
We need bigger names for the rest of the supporting cast , like the sorceress, king and queen, Rammy , Orko, cringer and evil warriors
I agree. I think we need at least one big name in a featured role. I'd also kinda like to see Dolph Lundgren in, even if just a cameo amount of time, as King Randor. Nicholas kinda looks like a young Dolph in a certain light.
I don't know if the MOTU is going to be that good.
I think it is going to be very difficult to hit the right tone and look to make it work for a wide audience...
He man was good. But didn't age in lore and on the new media and movie markets.the way many others did. Novel at the time loved the merchandise as a kid. Heman universe needs a reboot or a spinoff universe to make the modern changes.
What do you think Mattel needs to do in order to give it the needed modern spin?
@masterscast just like star wars, star trek, Warhammer, d&d, and other fictional universers alot of fleshing needs done. Many of the he-man characters are strait fantasy and not believable to modern sci fy or super hero fans. Many reworks need done to the characters. Sort of like how klingons in star trek changed their looks. Origin story's need more basis in reality to truly get invested these days. With modern technology we can make worlds of he man come to life in a way people could connect. Strait fantasy is cool but can get dated.
There are still many He-Man fans among vintage toy collectors and in the 80's nostalgia arena. But as a franchise today MOTU is dead for the most part. GI Joe, Transformers and certainly the pop culture cornerstone Star Wars all seem to have more staying power.
I was a huge fan when they came out in the 80s but as the years went on i never got reattached. I started collecting figures again starting with transformers, to gi joe, and turtles but what got me was neca's cartoon accurate tmnt toyline. Its how i remember the OG show and i like the figures. Now that MotU is doing cartoon accurate figures its finally calling me back. I wasnt really interested in buying the figures i had when i was a kid, or remakes of them. Kinda like Super7 Ultimates TMNT. They're just fancier classic looking toys. I only have a Merman collection 😂 so if its headed for death, i gotta be the weird one to get into them at its death (I also have all the Turtles of Grayskull figures)
I do agree that the cartoon-accurate figures really do a better job of capturing the essence of the classic show and I am enjoying collecting them. Plus, they are actually doing She-Ra designs in the line!
More grunts, always good for toy armies.🎉
Who didn't love Netflix she man? Tela needed that, because of how worthless she was in the original show.😂😂😂😂😂😂
Teela's journey was always to become the next Sorceress and it was a story that absolutely should be told. I think the issue with Revelation was balance.
I like to say I feel very fortunate I was a Transformers fan before I got into Masters of the Universe. Programming me to accept extremely radical takes early in life. The MotU commuinity online will act like half of the entire planet blew up if you make She-Ra look like something aside from the classic Filmation design or have Teela put on some muscles while having a temper while the Transformers fandom down the block reacts "Lol, cool" to the franchise deciding to make all of the robots turn into animals instead of vehicles or aircrafts and making the slimey traitorous weasel the actual hero of the story in the anime. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power for life for me. That thing got me into the entire fanchise in general. I am so happy it was a radical re-imagining. Also, the Kevin Smith reboot material was pretty cool to me. Still thinking about Lena Headey's Evil Lyn to this day...
Out of all the reboots He-Man and She-Ra has seen... I do feel strongly that Princesses of Power was the best of the lot for sure. Glad it got you into the franchise!
Nah bro is not dead they just aren’t making he-man for its audience. The activist are making stuff that appeals to them trying to lecture us about nonsense. 🤷♂️
I didn't find that any of the new offerings (Revelation/Revolution, CGI, or Princesses of Power) pushed any sort of heavy activist message. But do remember, Filmation had pro-social messages built in to all their episodes back in the 80s. So, it isn't something out of the ordinary for the property.
I'm good with the OG cartoon. I find that it piggy backs off of the Hero's Journey that we all collectively walked in the childhood of the 80's, where virtue was part in parcel with the times. Blackstar He-Man G.I. Joe She Ra Jem Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles BraveStarr Thundercats Silverhawks Inhumanoids Transformers Visionaries Spiral Zone Rambo Chuck Norris etc. -Heroes, being Heroes, and doing Heroic things against villains who were Villains who were doing Villainous things. We wanted to BE those heroes, it wasn't just about selling and buying the toys, though that was where the wheel was attached to the axle. We were the Heroes.
Amazing Discussion @masterscast just adding my own thoughts. I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that the Flimation Cartoon was the whole reason kids got into MOTU. The Line started in 1982 and was already popular going into 1983. The Filmation TV Series propelled the brand into the stratosphere that can't be denied. But to say it wasn't popular before that, is debatable. I remember distinctly LOVING the mini-comics and the Alfredo Alcala illustrations and lore much more than the original Flimation adaptation. But as with anything my preference changed once the TV Show got integrated into the comic books, and they moved away from the high fantasy and into more of a mainstream setting. My preference today is Filmation First and Original Lore 2nd, and now with the introduction of New Eternia we're once again re-telling the story of MOTU. Not that we haven't in the past lol. New Adventures, 200X, The Princesses Of Power, Revelation, Revolution. MOTU continues to inspire and evolve as all great properties should. The fact we are blessed with MOTU back on the shelves is incredible. And like it or not with the new "Crossovers" Turtles of Grayskull and Thundercats on the horizon, the Future of MOTU is looking bright. It might not be for die-hard MOTU Fans, but you have to admit it is fun to see what Mattel comes up with year after year. Amazing Discussion @masterscast looking foward to the next one! Good Journey! -Geek Proud!
Also about the mystery missing from the stories at 34:00, or that sense of mystery that is missing... TOTALLY agree. I hate the lazy multiverse stuff and just want stories in the sandbox we love, and no more re-invention. But so many fans are like 'that is what Masters is.. all multiverse...' and I disagree...I hope the film will help immensely. It's the most overdue film.
Absolutely agree that multiverse tends to be really lazy story telling these days... especially now that it has been overdone by Marvel. I did enjoy some of it in the newer MOTU comic books for a fun little crossover, but other than that, I don't think we need it. I really do hope that movie is a hit. Even if it is something I am not thrilled with overall, if it reaches a wide audience and jumps the fandom again, I think we are ready for energy!
They have taken a chance. They put a film into production. I feel like this panel is 3/4 people that just don't get it. Martin to a lesser extent.
The film has technically been 'in production' for over a decade, cycling through numerous directors, writers, and studios with little to show for it until now. While the current progress is encouraging, Mattel's long history of false starts makes it understandable why some of us remain cautious. It’s not about dismissing the potential but recognizing the pattern. If this truly marks a turning point for the franchise on the big screen, it’s something we can all celebrate for sure. But, the skepticism comes from years of watching plans fizzle before reaching fruition.
I tend to disagree with Josh most of the time but his take on the lack of mystery is SPOT ON
Filmation is indeed the biggest reason for the brand's popularity but this panel skews so incredibly Filmation-esque. There is much more to the IP than just Filmation. MYP was superior in everyway, the early minicomics were fantastic, the later characters, such as Rio and Clamp Champ are incredible. It's more than just Filmation.
The point was more-so that storytelling/media drives the franchise as a whole, which then is a catalyst for not only toy sales but merchandising in general. Filmation has really been the only truly successful entity to do that, Mike Young coming in a very distant second. Everything else unfortunately has had lackluster performance and/or reception. :-(
Bottom line, MOTU is super niche. There are 100 fold more "Adult Collectors" than there are He-Man and She-Ra fans. If you don't want the toys don't buy them, it says more about you as a collector than it does the state of the brand. MOTU and POP even more-so, are holding on by a thread but we're still here. Be happy that that it still has a heartbeat and hasn't been relegated to the same status as may of the other 80s brands. Toys are, first and foremost, for kids. Secondarily, they are appealing to the collectors and finally then to the hardore HM/SR fans.
I see where you’re coming from, but I think it’s a bit more nuanced. MOTU might be niche compared to broader collector markets like Marvel, but its fanbase is incredibly passionate and loyal, which keeps the brand alive decades later even when Mattel was doing zero for it. Choosing not to buy certain toys isn’t necessarily about one’s standing as a collector, it’s often a matter of personal taste, budget, or even how the product resonates with individual nostalgia. New characters to pump out more snake men is for more an adult toy collector, not for an MOTU fan. But, at the same time, it can be good for Mattel's bottom line in sales regardless.
@@masterscastI would agree with @jaredjudnich that MotU like most of the other "actionfigures" are ment to be baught by adult collectors than by kids today. In my opinion Kids of today don't spend that many years and time playing wirh actionfigures and such as we did back than. Many kids early get tablets or smartphones to play with and watch video on. Many of the "old" Fans buy figures because they can and an I think the partly do it in hope to get some some money out if it too. Nearly noone on RUclips is talking about childhood memorys when showing ne figs they bought into the camera. They talk about price, hard to find, bad paintjobs, damaged backcards, etc. After they are done the put it on a shelf or pack it away somewhere and don't look back on the figure again for month. I don't know - thats not what I want to do :). As a kid I maybe had 8 to 10 of the MotU Figs, which werent cheap back than. But I played hours/weeks/month with them. Took them with me to friends had a lot of fun. Great time - not compareable with today where I maybe send at max 5 minutes with a new figur.
I definitely rarely see kids looking at the action figures in Target/Walmart. The toy companies don't seem to want to admit that their market is truly adult collectors now. They probably need to invest in media that hits things like an iPad to get kids interest.
The fandom does seem to be dying. Older fans are starting to get burnout & the story/ lore just doesn't transcend generations. At this point even if this 2026 movie actually happens I don't think it can save the franchise. It needs to be insanely good/successful to save it, and based on the synopsis I don't think it will be. Really, this movie needed to happen about a decade ago.
Yeah... I really fear that the concept just does not interest newer generations of children unfortunately. And as the adult fans burnout, nothing will be left to keep the property going. :(
@@masterscast looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the movie.
Ah well. It had a good run. Lasted longer than Zorro and the 3 Muskateers. 🙃
*** Just looked it up. I was wrong. Zorro was first written in 1919 and had a comic out this year (105 years). Three Muskateers was written in 1844 and had a graphic novel out in 2016 (172 years). MOTU has a long way to go to outlast those two.
I loved to see Whiplash, Webstor, Merman, BuzzOff and co. als special one of Kind characters/monsters when I was a kid. I don't like what Mattel did with them later. For me it is totaly boring that they now are just some bad guys and all of them are simply part of entire races. They got boring and lost their uniquenes in my opinion. In the podcast you said that StarWars did it better - i don't think so. George Lucas tried to explain what the force is... bad idea - i think. In my opinion the storys got worse since Disney took over - for me Star Wars sucks these days - totaly uninterested in new movies or series they throw out. When the MotU Origins startet I wanted to buy all of them 😂. Mattel said the Origins would be easy available in stores even here in Germany and that it would not be a collectors line. After wave 3 it really got tricky here to find every figure. Then they even startet their Mattel Creation only crap with the Origins. That was the end of collecting the line for me. I got rid of most of them and i am happy i did. I have a lot more Space now 😅 The masterverse staff is much easier to get here, but as Mattels Origin strategie left me totally frustrated I never thought about getting into that Toyline at all. That they realse every chrakter in 3 or more Versions didn't make it more attractive for me - more like the opposit. As I like Lego, I bought and like the MegaConstux MotU sets a lot, even as the Minifigures are very fragile. Unfortunatly that Line was over very fast - at least I can save money that way 😅 For me personally the He-Man cartoon never played a big role in my childhood. As i saw it years later I didn't like it. What sold He-Man to me as a Kid, were the Comics and the full cast Audiobooks who all were much more grone up and darker in their Storys than the Cartoon was.
I agree, we started down the "explain everything" path when Mattel did the relaunch in 2001 and they have just continued to double-down on it all. Excellent point about many characters, not just He-Man himself, not being unique anymore because of the need to explain their existence and difference in appearances. I think Josh does agree with you about the later Star Wars; he was just referring to the original Star Wars. George definitely started to explain too much when he did the prequels for sure. I do think there are a sizable number of kids who did only like the mini comics like you stated and didn't pay much attention to the cartoon. The mini comics and even those audiobooks like you said definitely at times had darker, more mature tones to them. One of the USA audio adventures from back in the day, it was just called "Masters of the Universe", was exactly how you described. I can still hear a haunting voice saying "the vortex.... the vortex..."
@ In Germany the 80s cartoon was shown on TV stations which many people were not able to receive at that time, also it aired quit late in the MotU Live time. Some expensive VHS Tapes of the cartoon could be bought, but at the time I as a child I didn't even know the cartoon existed :D And we didn't own a vcr back the , too. When I years later viewed some of the Episodes I didnˋt like them. For me they aged terrible ;) I think that turtes did best to stay up to date, just as you explained. But I'm not a huge Turtles Fan, guess I was to old when they appeared here for the first time to get addicted to them. I haven't watched the MotU Netflix cartoons till today, as I don't have a Netflix subscription. I'm simply no longer interested enough in the brand to get a subscription only to watch some MotU. I remember searching the web back and fourth for video material back in the days the 2k cartoon launched :D Today it would be easy to watch it, but i lost interesst to do so. I think it might be simply to much MotU that Mattel launched simultainlessly for me. Their are so many right now, that I even get confused with the naming. 2k, motu, classic, origins, masterverse, new eternia, she-ra netflix, SheRa80s, Mega, motu minis, neca.... I got lost :D - I Love the 80s Stuff I grew up with, I think I leave the rest to the toycollectors with bigger homes and more store room than I have. I love to listen to my old MotU Audio-Tapes from time to time, and I enjoy listening to MastersCast too, of cause. Hope Katy will be back on the next episode :D. Otherwise I would say, that I am mostly done with Motu these days. Found it exiting when 2kx startet and liked it when new Classic Figures where rewield back than(even if i did not buy them), but today I don't really care. There are also countless MotU youtubers of which everyone unpacks new MotU figs, but I also lost intresset in watching these contents months ago. Wonder were these people store there stuff :D As I am not a facebook guy, the english "fandom" went completly out of my sight when he-manORG closed. In the last days of the ORG there wasn't much going on anymore, so I only rarely looked by. I think the fandom in Germany stayed a lot more active on the web as the us one did. Unfortunatly many fansites went also down, but the largest one - planeteternia - is still a very active site with lots of users. I am not a big fan, that the staff of planeteternia allready did a lot of things together with Mattel Germany, because I think that it always leads to some kind of... I also liked the "free" he-man org better, bevor all those conventions with Mattel exclusives and user Polls for Mattel. I guess it is the normal way for big sites, but I personaly don't like it too much. I guess all those things maybe a result of me growing older. I more often watch/listen to older stuff I already know instead of wanting to see the new stuff, which often doesn't meat my taste. What ever. I hope we don't have to wait as long for the next MastersCast Episode as we had for this one ;) I would be ready to listen to a MastersCast Christmas Special 2024 - for sure ;) :D
Katy had some obligations, but she will be back in 2025. What do you think would make you not be done with MOTU? What could Mattel do to re-peak your interest?
@@masterscast At the moment I don't think they can do anything. The last Origins I bought, I didn't really enjoy at all. Like you said - it sometimes took me days, too, before I eaven cared to open the shipping box. Today I get a lot more enjoyment in spending money now or than on physical media like LPs/CD and listen to those, than buying toy related stuff. I still like to display a few MotU figs or an old Lego set somewhere in the room, but I don't want to get more of it. I had more than enough of it and I am happy that I got rid of a lot of it. Didn't make sense for me any longer to store toys I mostly don't care for in boxes somewhere. A other reason for me is, that our economy is going down badly these days. Nearly all of the daily goods riseed and still rise in price. So I don't want to buy stuff I don't really enjoy just for having it stored somewhere in a box. Even if Mattel would release a new good Movie - I don't think it would change anything for me. I perhaps would enjoy watching it and maybe buy a discounted moviefigure somewhere but I don't think I would getting into collecting again. I hope Mattel finds a way to place heman in the hearts of the kids of today so that the brand survives. Which I sadly don't see happening with children I have contact with. I still like listening to MotU Pocasts and hearing the opinion of them about new MotU figs or their childhood Motu memorys. But I am not interested in buying more Toys. Not only MotU, Lego and other brands too. Those things were great and I had a lot of fun with it when I was jounger. It is simply that my nostalgiea isn't that strong any more, and if I would buy something nowadays it wouldn't be new stuff. And the 80s MotU stuff is starting to self destruct even within its original packageing, so no. I'm happy with the things I keept, I don't want to get more again.
They did watch He-man in Season 1 of Stranger Things. Maybe the 1st episode?
Oh, good point. It might have been on the tv in the background? Good call. Though I guess for me that is still a bit of a stretch unless the marketing tie-in truly helps MOTU in some way.
I agree, I'm not into the Turtles or Stranger Things tie-ins at all, especially when the only other thing happening is a slow trickling of the remaining Origins and Cartoon figs. RioBlast with more screentime than Stratos in Revelation... 😖
I really wish they'd at least get the remaining true Origins out for us. I'd hate for Mattel not to complete it...
Missed Katy Rainbow Brite on this discussion! The classic toys, Filmmation cartoons, sci-fi He-Man, the Mike Young series, and the Mattel classics line all seemed like part of the same thing. The new He-Man Revelations and anime-styled She-Ra series do not really seem like it is part of the same world, and in general it almost has to split fandom into people who like the pre-modern takes, folks who like the modern He-Man and people who like the modern She-Ra.
Katy sends her love! She was unfortunately unable to join us due to some obligations but will be back in 2025 for sure!
So this lioncourt dude is wrong. We in Europe didnt even have filmation in many households Mind you, Europe was 25% of the market worldwide in the 80s. Thats typical american ignorance.
I appreciate your perspective and understand the frustration. It’s true that access to Filmation's He-Man cartoon varied significantly across regions, and Europe represented a substantial portion of the global market during the 1980s. However, it’s worth noting that the United States was the primary driver of sales and marketing strategies for the Masters of the Universe toy line. Much of the franchise's success was anchored in its popularity within the U.S., where the synergy between the cartoon and toy sales was most impactful. Recognizing these nuances can help us better understand the diverse experiences fans had with the brand globally.
Who's we?! It was in UK, Germany, Italy, France, Yugoslavia (where I'm from, watching it as a two year old!), Greece, Spain, Sweden, Norway...

Rokkon is my favorite. But the Vintage one is better.
What an amazing collection you have. We could be twins, because I`m crazy as you with MotU!
AWESOME! ⚔️
Just started watching New Adventures myself. I really don't get the hate for it. It's different, yeah, but its still fun with possibly the BEST Skeletor.
I can only dream of such a badass display
*Fan Theory!!* Don't stomp me out for saying this, but I think I know why Skeletor was able to fuse Magic and Technology together. I have done so much research and fandomizing the Lord of Destruction, I have watched every series and read every comic. Skeletor told Hordak that "The Havoc staff once held, is not so easily discarded." I would like to look deeper into this statement. As we learned from season 2 of Revelation, Adam was able to hold the power without the sword. This I feel was because of how long he has been a champion of Grayskull. The fact that he has held the power for so long, it has become a part of him, which he has with or without the sword. And as we learned in Episode 1 of Revolution, Zoars power may lay within Grayskull, but he is only 1 of the 3 gods, and Havoc was one of them. Skeletor has had Havoc for years now, even before Adam was born. That's nearly two decades of Skeletor having Havoc flowing threw him via the staff! But with Hordak erasing his memories, he most likely forgot how he got the Havoc Staff, and knew nothing about its affect on him. But, with Keldor back inside his mind, he finally remembers his connection to Havoc, and now knows that like Adam, he is the spark to call down the power of Havoc. Fusing his magic with the technological power granted to him by Motherboard and Hordak, he was able to become the Techno Warlock he was at the very end. And even though He-man used the powersword to drain Keldor of Skeletor, we saw in the dungeons that Keldor still has some connection to Skeletor. And Teela in the second episode of Revolution, she saw that there was a fourth tower of Havoc, most likely where the Havoc Staff draws its power, much like how He-man and Teela draw their power from Zoar in Grayskull. As long as Havoc exists, Keldor has a link to the power! It may take time, but as long as Havoc exists, so does Skeletor!
I absolutely adored this season, I still don't understand why Kevin Smith is getting so much flack for his trilogy! I loved the Skeletor/Keldor scenarios, just because I have always loved the thought that He-man and Skeletors destiny's were entwined by so much more than Grayskull. Granamyr absolutley rocked this series, despite the fact that I felt he could have been in the final battle a little bit longer, and have been killed by Skeletor. Hordak and Skeletors fight rocked, how Skeletor saw Hordak like a father in some ways, but in the end hated him for using and manipulating him. And the last stand was incredible! While I was just a tiny bit annoyed that the ghosts were somehow able to just leave Preternia to fight the Techno Titans? But He-mans choice to turn Skeletor back into Keldor instead of just killing him, shows how much Kevin Smith actually did his research, that He-man is willing to do whatever it takes to preserve life, even the one of Skeletor. And that clip we saw in Episode two, of Teela seeing the Tower of Havoc gives me hope for the future. Because where there is Havoc, there will always be Skeletor. People may be on the craze that Despara and Horde Prime will be the main antagonists of season 4, but lets be honest with ourselves. Skeletor is the Lord of Destruction, and the true Herald to Havoc. He will be back, and he will be Master of the Universe!
