This was filmed on July 28, 2023, at the 12:00pm Mass at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Santiago, Spain. The Botafumeiro swung for the pilgrims of the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, who had just finished walking the Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago.

Father Richard Puetz recently celebrated his 78th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood, so I asked if I could interview him. He was born in 1919 in Dunnington, Indiana, and after attending St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, and St. Meinrad Seminary, he was ordained a priest in 1945 for the newly created Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. Father Richard's sister cecillia is my aunt
Jeremiah Thank you so much for this video. I came across my grandmother's pocket manual. Inside was a card in the memory of his ordination. That is what brought me to the video. My grandmother was Clara Puetz. The Reverend 's sister, Ceil was my Aunt (married to my mother's brother Art Brost). I really enjoyed listening to the interview. Very impressed at his memory. Give him our best. My mother was Lois Brost.
Crazy that Puetz is gonna bring us all together. What up fam!!!! My grandpa is his nephew.
At one time I guess there were a lot of unwashed pilgrims who had tremendous body odor making this giant incense burner necessary.
