what other fuse could be use in the fuse box?
Why do you need four resisters? Shouldn't you just need two (for the blinkers)? Thank You
As an Avionics Tech, that works on multi million dollar aircrafts your “harness” triggered the crap out of my OCD! I’m going to send a video of my harness! That looks like sh+it
Nice work, it looks awesome! Nice unique look for those willing to do the work.
Very good video. But you didn’t show where the yellow wires goes connect. Please let me where goes.
I like the look, really makes it useful and instead of that black piece of useless plastic. Good instruction and video.
I figured it out. I had to cut the third wire on both factory DRL light bulb connectors.
I wired my lights and I can’t get the white lights to light up. I have a 2023 sr5 and my DRL have three wires for my DRL
Your video's helped a lot. Thank you. I just wired my lights up and they work great. I shot a DRL bulb but I'll replace that and everything will look OEM.
I just got my lights. DO I need 4 resistors or two?
so much work for that lights I'm going to forget about it😊
do you need to cut off the lights and then cut them back on? Someone said in a thread that they did not need a resistor. They needed to just cut the car on and then lights and then cut them off and it began to work correctly

Wow...those lights are time consuming ..and really a pain I see
Angle screw driver 💪🏾
Thank you for the video, they look good. Too much work for me for those small lights .
I do like the look...
Dude I have been looking for this video thank you for posting
Thanks it work
Thanks
It work using tape over the bumper
Gotta get a set of led replacement bulbs that fit in stock housing. I got some off Amazon that work like a champ for $70 full set
I’m going with the Diode Dynanics LED bulb replacements. I’ll be installing next week and dropping an install video as well.
Nice editing work, dude, especially the part about getting that pesky screw out and put back in .
Electrical thing first it's a great idea to make use of wasted space in a very noticeable place I had a similare thing but it only required changing my front amber signal light that have another job as my day time running lights on my tacoma a 2017 I only got the sr version so it didn't have even the partial l.e.d running light in the headlight unit the bulb I got from ebay about 4 years ago had to have a register or in signal mode it would hyperflash so I installed one on each light there was also a separate whire that went to the fuse box I forget where or how it had to be placed so it was more than changing a regular halogen amber bulb it was one of those long aluminum body's with two different l.e.d.s attached and they both worked but I learned early to solder wires and use heat shrink tabbing to cover the joint and the first thing I felt had to be done was fog lights the sr was the only tacoma that they didn't come standard and I try to make my wires look as close to factory as possible even if possible put them in the plastic while loom with factory wires or I have enough on hand so I can put just my wires in it. But putting my swich back bulbs was a he'll of alot easier than what was nessesary to install these light's witch I saw once before on a channel and thought it a very clever idea to take a useless black filler out and replace it with something useful and really cool looking but I wanted them when I saw them in operation white daytime running lights that became amber signals when turning but I new that just the electrical work was going to be time consuming but also getting the old black plastic fillers out would require alot of the outer sections of the decorative parts of the front end would have to be out of the way just to get at two screws that held the plastic fillers out including loosening the bumper on both side to expose a bolt that had to come out to get at it a 3 or 4 hour job easy but they really are a big improvement more so than other mods that are not at all adding to the look or functionality of the tacoma this is not only a big improvement but I would imagine they are quite a bit less expensive than mods that have a funtion and require alot more work and end up hardly ever being used so hats of to you this video not only taught me the difficulty of installing but those connectors witch I've known about for a while and finally got to see how incredible they are but they haven't been available in auto stores in my area yet I finally got a Chace to see them used and I believe the combinations that are in them makes even soldering and heat shrink obsolete so much easier even just knowing they existed made me look them up on my smart phone and purchase a case of commonly used sizes to have ready and I plan to reduce other mods that I have had problems with and found that it was always a break in even a soldered connection so thank you for this video I know my comment has dragged on but e b erything you did helped me with my approach to electrical mods so I really appreciate it and give your channel 5 stars if it means anything to you.
Greatest whireing job I've seen in any tacoma video you either do electronics for your job or tou are a very neat and organized armature who has done multiple electricyal mods on vehicles and picked things up from trial-and-error I to do mostl
My father was a master electrician and I learned a few things 🤣
@@TacomaTraveler I have three wires on my DRL. My yellow lights always come on with the DRL and turn signals. My white light only comes on when I connect red and black to the battery. What do I need to do?
can i just take off the headlights ?
Unfortunately to take off the headlights requires removing even more bumper connections than I had to in this video
Do you have any recommendations for fire extinguisher mounts, both interior and in bed?
I installed these without resistors. I ran the red wire to the drl fuse so they would work on all modes........BUT they don't turn off with the rest of the lights. Thoughts?
Mine don’t turn off. I connected my red to the ACC fuse so once the car is on the lights are on. Without resistors your leds won’t be firing correctly.
@@TacomaTraveler The ACC fuse you are referring to is in INJ (injector) fuse. Per the instructions for the lights, it shows to use that for the power. Anytime the truck is running the lights will work and function properly they just dont turn off unless the vehicle is off.
There is also a setting on the radio display that sets the DRL on constant power. You can turn it off and it will allow you to turn your DRL on and off with the lights switch near the steering wheel without constant power after you turn your truck off.
Just make sure when you test them, your parking hand brake is not up. The parking brake handle (not the shift knob) turns the DRLs off until you release it. Leave the truck in regular park or put it in drive if you want to roll around the block an test it that way. Hope this makes sense!
So each light needs 2 resistors, 4 total? One online with yellow (turn signal positive) and one in line with black (negative)? Been thinking about these of but still on the fence.
Yes, you need a resistor on both side of the circuit. Yellow and black each light. I was curious about seeing what happens if I remove the negative resistors….
Thanks for the update. I am still on the fence about getting them, but they sure do look great
It’s been 6 months and they are just like new. I get compliments on them a bunch and I think it fills out the blank space well
I strongly recommend you changing your headlights if you were already planning to do so while doing this mod, if not you're going to end up repeating this same exact process in order to change your headlights, so do both one time!
I’m replacing the factory bulbs and upgrading to Diode Dynanics LED bulbs so I don’t need to change the headlight housings. I’m doing that next week and release a video on that as well
Just saw those advertised, too bad about the hyperflasfh. Does this eliminate the factory signals then?
hyperflash is fixed by adding resistors, I will be posting a video in a day or two about that
part 2 installing the resistors just posted check it out give a thumbs up and comment if you like
Dang that is cool
Just installed my Vland Headlights two days ago worth every penny! Make the truck look different
Just saw these in a cali raised add.
Haven’t seen this mod yet. Thanks for the video
First time seeing this mod! Pretty cool👍
Great work man.
