Yes indeed ! In the Program, James Gant is referred as the Auctioneer but still appearing in different Ensemble roles. If you look at Les Misérables, it’s the same. Ensemble members are usually named by one role (actually the role they are the most highlighted with) but are also playing different characters in the show. Two random exemples : Jonathan Stevens is only referred as Feuilly in the cast list but can also be seen as a farmer, a factory worker, a Thénardier customer, a wedding guest. Ellie Ann Lowe is named as Factory Girl because the other roles she ´s playing don’t have as much lines as she has when she is the Factory Girl ☺️ I actually can’t remember exactly what other role James Gant played in the show but I remember to have seen him through the show.

Most of the non principals play other parts.

These days not only does the Auctioneer play various ensemble roles but the actor is usually also a 1st cover Phantom. James Gant’s Phantom is super

Fun Fact, I follow Ellie on Instagram and when she updated her Fantine performances, I actually booked and wend to London (from Belgium) only to see her as Fantine. She didn't disapointed me at all, she was amazing ! What do you think ?
