SOLO Throwback!! Texas Hill Country Thermal Hog Hunting
Welcome back to another episode of Ultimate Night Hunters!!
To get this episode started we go back in time to the beginning of the Ultimate Night Hunters and Kolby takes us on a daytime hunt in the West pasture at his ranch where he takes down 2 hogs with his 300BLK. When then transition to a thermal hunt off of his front porch where he takes down a large boar with his 6.5 PRC.
The second hunt of this episode Briar takes over where he knocks over a large boar at his neighbor's property. He then takes us to the next day where he weighs the pig for us, and it comes in at a whopping 235 pounds!!

How far away do you turn the buggy off and walk up so not to spook them?
@@mark_luna Great question!! It varies depending on which feeder we are headed too. The night helps us because it mostly just noise that would spook them unless we are running with all the lights. But we usually are around the 100 yards or so away from them! We would always rather walk a little further and get on hogs than spook them with the buggies

Just my opinion, I don't like this format in which the same encounter is presented 3 times. Perahps mix up the different cameras over differebt episodes would be better.

An awful lot of these shots appear to go way over the visible "horizon"? How far away from "Civilisation" are they actually shooting?
I guess the consensus is ....go back to the drawing board and shoot another video AFTER you get more practice in. Less trigger happy and more precision. 😉

@@omerozmen42 Unfortunately due to the Texas heat and Kolby having a full time job. We lost the pig to the heat. We try to get to make the smartest catches we can make. But sometimes they just don’t make it before we can get there

Wow, an actual hog catching channel that shows you what happens from start to finish. I'm impressed. This channel stands out from many of the rest who simply uploads a video trapping hogs and then dragging them out from the cage. Them dispatching the hogs they call "exclusive content" you gotta pay for on their website. Not happening.

@@coyotiess Great Question! Camera and mechanism about $1000. The trap is about $5000. We have had the trap for several years, do not remember exact pricing.

Thanks for the comment we really appreciate the support on our channel!! We use several different calibers in all of our episodes and continue to gain calibers that we how to bring to the channel. YESSIR!! Headshots are down for the count! Tripp has been running a 6.8 SPCII, he did use a 308 in his solo hunt however, Kolby ran his 6.5 Grendel this episode, Briar was using a 7.62x39mm. We try to introduce the episode with what caliber we will be using for that episode!

Howdy from Fort Worth. Nice little video fellas, to the point, no music or BS, the audio is a little low, but I liked the video. What ammo are each of you using? Me and a buddy put four down this past weekend in S.W. Wise County. He was using 6.8 SPC II, 120 grain SST ammo and I was using 300 Ham'r with 130 grain Ham'r Hot Core ammo.
Tripp Shooting the 6.8 SPC II using Hornady Black 110 grain V-MAX Kolby made a weapon change to a 6.5 Grendel and he shoots Wolf 123 Grain Steel Case FMJ or Hornady Black 123 Grain ELD Match out of his nicer gun.
