3:37 hello John! I am planning a 5 day hike and want to pass this way without going on top of the razor. I just want to reach the Pogačnikov dom coming from Vršič. We will have Helmets with us, but do you think we still need further safety gear? From what you show in the video i cannot see any concerning parts, other than the steep climb to the top of the razor, which we will skip. Your opinion on this would be very helpful! Thank you

This lake is on my list to be visited. You are going to face questions if you have the permit to go there as long as this video is public. This valley is forbidden even for climbers…
yep, it is forbidden + there is an even higher fine for flying a drone in the national park...
Thanks for this wonderful video to introduce Swinica! I’m thinking of hiking it as well. Do you think the hiker should be very fit to climb the ridge from Krapowsky to the Swinica peak and also the section right before the peak?

think that's a shepherds and not hunters hut. Kluže & Rombon have a lot of WWI stuff but if you like history & mountains i'd recommend Krn & Batognica.
It was not super clear what this hut was used for... it is probably used by shepherds too. No chance to get on Krn and I ignore where is Batognica ;) But thanks for your always welcome recommendations, !
Mt. Mangart is actually 4th highest mountain in slovenia. But due to people's view of triglav its usually No.3 highest. Correct order is: 1. Triglav, 2. Škrlatica, 3. Little Triglav (2725m), 4 Mangart :P., As for Jalovec it falls down to 6th highest :P with Visoki Rokavi (2646m), 1m higher then jalovec, Rokavi are less known since only for experienced climbers who free climb with rope.
I have found several ranking for the Slovenian tops and even if I like absolute right rankings, I had to make a choice ;) Visoki Rokavi, I do not know this one but this is a good recommendation for climbers (that I am not) ;)
You need good knees to run down the screes and correct technique or you'll cry when you're 40+ ;). If you like climbing u can skip that route to Češka hut and go climb to it. Its one of most known Via Ferattas in Slovenia. C/D mostly

I can recommend you harder route but lovely one. Go on Vršič in afternoon and leave your car.... go back down into Krnica valley and sleep in the hut. In the morning go for towards mt. Križ over Križ wall (secured climbing route) no go on Razor via Križki podi. Descend on route you came. Technically harder route but so much more to see and more enjoyable :P
I have just spotted the route, it looks awesome man! I have planned a trip to Bled this year for a second round on the missing tops (incl. Triglav) I had not enough time to hike/climb. If I do this one, it will be a future video ;)
