Hey guys, so this isn't primarily a build guide but more of a theory crafting guide for what a potential offensive build for Jayber would look like. I really hope people take some of the setup I give in this video and test it out or potentially improve it and make it their own. I think Jayber overall needs a lot of buffing if he were to change from a gun based character to a skill based character and if enough people seem to want that change, then maybe Nexon will look into buffing him.

MP Regen In Combat Bugged?! | Bug [The First Descendant[

This is just a quick video on MP regen being either bugged or, if it is how it is supposed to be, really bad and probably needs a buff. Just a quick tips and tricks video that covers a lot of the stuff already online but in a single video. Some stuff is stuff I havent really seen talked about or covered and some stuff is pretty basic. I just run a multitalented build centered around using his 1st and 4th with EXTREME cooldown while using amplification mods since his crit is extremely low. Go for raw dmg, and cooldown. Even using just 1 turret can get over 600k base dmg. Hopefully the overhaul they give him makes him better cause rn outside of that he has a bug where he can’t even use his power or mantle until he gets downed and rez’d
So it fixes that dumb no mana recovery in fight idea, thats cool

Jayber didnt really get touched so there isnt really anything else u can build on him, so yeah this would still be the best build.

I have a feeling when ultimate jayber comes he will get an actual single target dps mod. We should not try and build him for bossing dps, hes simply not capable of it right now, stick to aoe or heals
I like the abilities and playstyle He needs a major buff to equal him out with the Viessas,Valbys,Bunnys..etc etc
jayber turret should be stronger than bunny aoe by far, because to much downside, slow animation, static, can be destroyed and ofc it didn't move

Yeah this is still the best healing support build for Jayber, probably his only good build still. I am still working on more content but took a break for PoE last couple days. More content coming soon! :)
Jayber scales better with skill power modifire becuase most his shot deals continiues dmg also especially purge code
Hi, Thanks for the video. I also had suspicion, that mana reg. in combat worked kind of weird as i stacked mana regen components + psychological victory mod and i still had the same problem as not having any mana regen in combat / colosus boss fights. Playing Viessa myself so spamming skills is kind of what she does to dps. I really hope this is not a feature.
I can save you some time because I've already tested a Crit Jayber with 2 turrets. It's not great because of his low base skill Crit chance so you're going to waste half your mods getting it up to like 15-20% The base damage will hit for 17k and the Crits will hit for 48k Which would be fine but then you're sacrificing 100% enhance turret uptime and turret range. I posted a video and build on Reddit of my Jayber build and it's the easier and most efficient farm in the game at many locations. He is incredibly strong but his fast bossing potential is lacking until we can get a way to juice his single target DPS Edit: I've also tested purge code. Bosses almost never stand in it. Edit 2: I went and re-tested full Crit now that I have more mods and understanding than I did the first time and Im not so sure that Crit Jayber won't work. I got him up to 14% Crit rate and hitting for 98k a Crit with 2 turrets and the damage looked nice. Thanks to these stupid polarities I couldn't fit anything else, only Crit, so I'm not sure if you can also fit enough HP, range, duration, to make it worth it or not but I wanted to come back here and correct myself because I might have been wrong and there might be a viable Crit build you can make. I'm not going to spend any more catalysts on testing but good luck to anyone who does
I respect the hustle, time and effort you put into it nonetheless. I was divided between Jayber, Kyle, and Esiemo after 10 catas Ult Gley, and I think I might go Kyle for the titan-esque playstyle. Thank you for the info, bro.

Honestly any build that doesn't make me use his engineer gun is a win. Micromanaging turrets by shooting them sucks so bad.
i had to change to viessa to do low level stuff even on normal.. altough i prefer to play jayber
HP Heal only effects the Heal you get from picking up Red Cubes.

You're thinking about HP recovery my guy. And it affects all incoming heals. HP heal is for outgoing heals.
In your Healing build, you were using "MP Recovery in Combat", after some testing, the MP Recovery is disabled as soon as his turret takes damage, making it a pretty bad stat line to get on external components.
So, I covered this in my other video and yes I agree it is currently a bad stat line. But only if your solo, you can still get mp recovery a bit if your playing in groups and jayber currently shines in groups. But yeah Nexon needs to buff Mp Recovery in combat.
He really could use a buff real bad maybe even a skill swap he should have a emp pulse for the third skill because trying to hit the turrets with the weapon thru mobs is difficult while try to protect yourself 🤦🏽♂️ he has way more potential but it looks like this might be it for him 🤦🏽♂️ hopefully the ultimate jaybear be 2x better 🙏🏽
I think Jayber’s transcendent skill Turret Engineering should be basekit. The multipurpose gun is just annoying to use.

What’s the key to making his healing turrets heal really good and fast?

I’ve farmed for hours to get his skill module and not dropped once. Some 30 runs of bio lab on normal and hard. Farmed mission monsters quest hundreds of times. I don’t get it. 😊
Try module combining, I’ve gotten his mods like 15 times from combining transcendent modules

@@ThatJunnyBoy too bad I don’t have any duplicates. I just unlocked hard mode and only have had a couple drop and use most of those few on my characters. But good to know for the future.
You need to work it to modify
Jayber is definitely an interesting character, his strength lies in his versatility/sustain rather than raw damage potential. He can do a bit of everything and fit pretty well on any team comp. I feel like jaybers style of play cannot be utilized to the fullest at the moment because much of the content we currently have is basically running A to B, which suits descendants like bunny much better. However, where he really shines is defense missions as he can clear all 21 waves literally by himself with a good attack compulsion build. Right now, yes, turrets themselves are underwhelming and that fact is only going to get worse as the game gets older. One solution i had was to massively buffs the turrets single-target damage capability when not under the effect of enhanced, because they are almost useless in boss fights. I don't really have a need for the healing turret because my bossing build requires me to be near or under 50% health TL:DR he's a really good jack-of-trades, but i can see him falling off very soon if they don't do something about it. the game is still young, and there is a lot of things i've yet to experiment with him. I really hope skill power modifier/technician gets fixed on him soon.
Focus on Dimension works as it's supposed to at the very least. Slightly lower modifier but IMO it's worth it for the cooldown reduction anyways.

hmm let’s expand on this theory crafting, ima freyna main and i have found so much new techs it’s actually ridiculous, along with many indirect mod interactions. So let’s start with snapshot damage. Many abilities in this game such as all of freyna abilities and jayber abilities are snapshot damage, meaning whatever buffs you have when activating will stay on during the whole duration of the ability. Multitalented with jayber allows you to get a 30% damage increase to attribute damage, and although it’s called non attribute, it is an attribute, which you can apply to your turrets. This will give you a 30% damage increase that is multiplicative i believe. This procs from singular abilities, so all you need to do is activate jayber 3, and you will receive this 30% attribute damage increase for 5 seconds, but whatever ability you do in those 5 seconds will benefit for there whole duration. Shooting jayber gun to enhance the turret doesn’t make you lose the increased damage from the ability, meaning you can maintain the turret longer. Let’s go even further, Firing fiesta works on jayber 3, this means you can reload a gun, switch to jayber gun, and get up to 5 shots off of your jayber pistol for free, meaning you increase turret duration, and your pistol won’t go on cooldown when you cancel it. If your turret has the 30% attribute damage applied to it, when using immediate purge code the attribute damage is applied to it also, even if the buff isn’t up. With triple cooldown build( focus on non attribute, nimble fingers, mp conversion, this ult goes down to 25 second cooldown. Multitalented dimension ability allows you to gain 20.5% more cooldown for 5 seconds. that’s all i can do for you jayber sim not putting nothin in that man but work yall magic
This comment is an absolute goldmine for me, thank you SO much. Also a minor thing in comparison, but useful to those not in the know nonetheless: You can dodge-roll to cancel the equip (and unequip) animation of jayber's 3, making it significantly faster to use on-command. Additionally, manually unequipping his 3 immediately after firing a round won't register that round for the sake of the cooldown calculation.
I was expecting a character like the Technomancer from Outriders. The turrets deploy to slow. TFD developers should get rid of his 3 skill an replace it with an ice turret or poison turret.
I 100% agree, I think either add a turret that you can choose an element maybe or just make the 3 be the same as Turret Engineering mod baseline. If you had it with a extra turret then, it should get extended when you click the turret button again.
Jayber is held back by scaling of his turrets. Both damage and heal turrets are subpar even when "enhanced" especially when compared to other descendants who can build their skills to one shot level 100 mobs for example. Further the speed of the damage or heal ticks from the turrets is slightly under 1 tick per second. I understand that he is a utility damage dealer and that he works in tandem with his weapon(s) but his utility damage/heal skills even accompanied by a good weapon are exceptionally sub par. Tweaks are coming for some descendants "shortly" but I didn't see Jayber mentioned.
Yeah, Jayber's theme of turret support isnt really being fufilled with how he is right now. I really hope they buff him.
The attack turret shoots 2 projectiles/sec and the overcharge is 1tic/0,3sec, that's an average 5 attacks/sec with on average 28K dmg per attack. With attack compulsion, that's 2 turrets that deal 140K DpS. Jayber might not deal a lot of burst, but his sustained damage and area denial is one of the best of any Descendant.
He needs two turrets on badeline for his attack one. It shouldn’t require a module.
Have you not seen the 2 healing turret build? You can literally sit in lava on a boss and never die lol it’s op.
@@double_joseph327 i have to farm MOLTEN FORTRESS which is levels above the lava+ most jaybs build pure tank +increased heals. so I don't find that too appealing when yujin can insta heal and have insane healing which One button no mods
I finally got that turret engineering to drop tonight. feels so much better. that should just be how his 3 works without a skill mod tbh. shooting them for upkeep feels awful.

I wonder if it works the same way as Shield Recovery in combat, which also only kicks in when you're not getting hit.
shield is a whole different mess, One of the best mods for shield (Overwhelming Shield I believe it's called) is useless because once shield is depleted and you get knocked you end up getting picked up with no shield and 1 hp, so you die again almost instantly, and even more shit, is if you do a collosus battle and you are running it and you step on the lava shit then you are actually stuck at 0 Hp so you end up dying instantly as well when shield runs out.

Can I still have this build with 4 catalyst’s and is his electric aoe skill mod good I was tryna choose between the two assault turrets or the electric Aoe
Umm i mean yes but also that would feel really bad and ur skill mod would be useless. I will be posting a video tomorrow theorycrafting a build for the aoe skill mod if your interested for a build that might use that mod.
youve removed all the challenge from the game. best build for being lazy sure but definitely not the best build.

MP regen in combat is not necessarily bugged, but more so what counts as being in-combat regeneration. The problem is MP regen in-combat is directly tied to shield regeneration, they share the same condition in order to activate. Shields in combat only begin to regenerate when nothing is hitting you or coming your way (Ajax shields do not stop projectiles from counting as coming your way, excluding Kyle's Magnetic Bulwark, somehow.) What this means is that MP regen in-combat is only as useful as how long the boss, and adds, are not directly aggroed on you. What this also means is that no matter how good you are at not getting hit, simply being near a projectile will stop all MP regen, including shields.
Hey yeah I agree with that 100%, I actually made a new video covering it and talking about it. Hopefully Nexon looks into it since it is honestly such a useless mechanic if intended. With Jayber its worse since his turrets getting hit counts as you getting hit too which stops your regen. Feel free to check out the video, I kinda explain the issues with it.

Im jay main, i do mobster real fast. 17meters enchanced double turret. 30 to 60k damage per ticks. If a ulti jayber gets release, im going to buy it and make it healer build, its good for boss solo.

Instead of running a shield processor you can just run a hp one and give out more heals + have more health instead of running it for the 1.9% cause shield is useless and doesn't stack with def I see you run skill cooldown and nimble finger but you legit have 10sec of up time with turret engineering before the turrets goes away i think it's kinda useless and more cooldown is more MP problems especially that you dont have skill cost reactor or Strong Mentality
yeah 100% agree nimble fingers for cooldown is pretty much overkill but I have it already polarized if I was to use something better it would be Regeneration Boost mod for more heals which I also overkill but lets you put the Ninja star symbol as the polarization. That pretty much lets you play around with a bunch of mods. Also for the component, the reason I was showcasing that one is because currently processors arent on the weekly rotation so people will be able to get it from the boss, but your also right on that.
Jayber is still bugged. Skill Power Modifier still does not work for turrets even after yesterday's patch. Until that gets fixed I see little hope in an assault turret build.

Have you tried using the arche acceleration mod(it increases skill cast speed and range) I believe it’s called it speeds up the turrets rate of fire , so it might speed up the heals per second
Hey yeah, I tested that since it seemed like a really good choice but unfortunately there is no way to increase the speed at which it heals. Also if you havent you should take a look at my newer guide for the build it is a lot better and probably the most optimized healing turret build for Jayber.
Does it really increase the rof? Cause the description makes it sound as if it accelerates the speed of bullets (like Jayber's fireballs) and not the attack interval.
I tried it. Its trajectory speed and range. Not the ticks per second. Besides the turrent tick is 0.3 seconds 19%wont do much of it. Its good for enzo rockets and anything with trajectory. Bullets and turrets don't get affected due to instant hit.

Hi dude, great video and good explanation of the build, but as new jayber player and im only starting the hard mode for the first time, do you have a build for the start of hard mode ? cuz you can only unlock the skill modifier when doing hard pyromaniac ! thx in advance dude
So the best part of this build is that, you dont really need turret engineering. Turret Engineering just feels really good and makes the build feel smooth so if you have all the other mods that will still perform very well.
After testing, for anyone wondering if Passionate Sponser applies only to yourself or your allies too, the Buff only applies to you. This is still the best mod to run in group play since 75% firearm ATK is huge for you since you rely on your gun with Jayber.
Would you reccomend jayber over enzo for play
Depends on how you really like to play, Jayber right now is kinda the ultimate support and will probably be one of the best characters to push harder content when it comes out but Enzo has a lot of benefits with the easier encrypted vaults and he has a pretty good build which gives his allies and him crit. So TLDR I would say they are both equal but Enzo has more current value as a character but jayber could have a lot more potential.

you can use the ult with medical turret and max out cooldown and duration so u dont have to use the gun. Its really good ive been running that and im able to face tank and support the whole team in hard mode & be unkillable unless its a mechanic. if they fix jayber he will be OP

judging by the video with the bosses, MP restoration does not work at all More precisely, MP regeneration does not work when the character takes damage.
Yeah, Ive been testing it extensively and am gunna make a video showcasing it. I have to assume it is a bug since, why would even have the stat mp recovery in combat if you cant recover in combat. The worst thing is that through testing, it seems if jaybers turrets get hit it also counts as him getting hit which stops the regen. But as for the build, when you actually kill the adds and stuff and transition the boss through enrage phases, there is enough downtime to get enough generation without getting hit for it to feel good to play.
What do you replace for passionate sponsor ? and why enduring legacy ?
Psychological Victory is primarily what you will be running solo and Passionate Sponser replaces it for group play. Enduring legacy because its a LMG that reduces resistance to Fire and aslo applies status effects faster and if you add Fire Atk to it you will trigger its other passive which increases Firearm ATK by 7% and I believe was quite high up on Ryechews spreadsheet of weapon power.
@@NEEATT is psychological victory and passionate sponser same polarisation so you can swap them easily ? Does the passionate sponser's buffs apply to all allies or only to you ?
@@Skewguard Yeah they are, I havent been able to test with someone I know so im unsure if it buffs allies but it buffs you 100%.
and what if you build around double medic turret ? same build ? better or worse that your red mod? btw your skin is fantastic, where did you get it ? just recolor and a make up ?
it would be 2x better, but then u will have to use the default V or 3 ability which is kinda annoying to use. And yeah the Purple outfit with a recolor and the hair with makeup set. Also i will be posting a video today 100% that will show a updated version of my build and it will have where to get everything and what I use.
