I guess you guys don't understand this, but that 6/8 is supposed to be a march. So a fast tempo is alright. The tempo she actually had was slow compared to our schools. If no one believes I will add proof about. Our Highschool Cadet band class, Rank D in our style Of MSBOA district 16.

I agree, they were playing too fast in the 6/8 part of the song. Also, you could barely here the trombones and the rest of the low brass when they have the melody. But great job over all.

This is the finest recording posted of this arrangement. Better than many of the high school bands.

Very powerful entry, but the grace note was held too Long. It sounded like a F natural, its a F sharp.

Playing this in a contest soon. Not the biggest fan of my part ( 2nd Alto Sax) but I love this song.

The camera work is far too shaky for my total enjoyment, the Canadian Brass of course are always enjoyable, especially Brandon on his Piccolo Trumpet in this instance. Too bad this festival did not use a proper sound stage, the background noise detracts from the overall sound quality.

@poultryhugger Holding the trumpet too high could stretch out the abdomen and compress the spine which makes it hard to breathe efficiently.

i think this is the best cover of this song on youtube. my school jazz band played this song as well, we take it extremely fast. so i always think every cover's a little slow. but this is great.

Very, very few trumpet players could ever accomplish this piccolo virtuosity. Bravo. An amazing achievement.

Nice sound....keep practicing. People will pay for part of your college education if you play well enough and participate in their ensembles....hint, hint. :) Always looking for good trumpet players in Nebraska.

It's hard to tell what's going on since the camera quality isn't great, but they stayed together nicely. I'll give them that. Very nice trumpet, too.
