Looks like the attitude indicator crapped out.

Nice video. I was always taught a Barrel roll is a constant 1g maneuver that includes a 90 degree change in heading half way through it. Based on your reference point, I think the first maneuver was just an aileron roll.

PSU 18 Thanks. In Better Aerobatics book written by Alan Cassidy the "difference in heading from upright to inverted" is called "Angle-Off". In that book Angle-Off is defined to be a variable that has a typical value of 60 or 90deg. To my understanding in than video what I do mostly wrong is the straight pull at the start and end, rather than having a constant roll rate during those pulls. As in Better Aerobatics book it is defined that "a constant roll rate throughout" shall be maintained. However, I was tough to make a straight pull at the start and end, so some do think that this figure should have a straight pull at the start and end. To this issue I guess good summarize can be found from Better Aerobatics book: Barrel Roll "is subject to more misconceptions than probably any other manoeuvre".

Power was kept constant during the aerobatics. At least Cuban eight would require pulling the throttle back... if flown perfectly. Even so, perfectly is not part my style :-)
