Reyn: Traditional Animated Pencil Test
As wonderful as digital animation is, there's something special about moving a character through nothing more than a pencil and some transparent paper. It's less forgiving, because you can't just press play and see if your timing is right. You have to flip the pages and be more careful with your planning.

I’ve had similar dreams but for a book, and I was always saying “it’ll never happen”, but it’s so cool to see how it’s actually possible for someone’s childhood dream to come true!!
Dream big and go for it!! You can do it ♥️♥️ It can be very hard and a lot of sacrifices required, but I like to believe that if we really want something, we can achieve anything :))

Hi 👋 True, the trailer was so long ago, it’s becoming a film now!! 🥹 So I had some time while waiting for Reyn paperwork and I can’t exist without making things, so I made an Epic animatic for fun because I loved the music!! Jorge saw it & reached out, asking me to animate an official one :) I was so happy my hand slipped and it became a full animation 😭♥️
Omg! That's amazing! Reyn is still a thing? Uhh! I might have to keep an eye out for that the next couple of years (starting to finally learn, and accept, things take time...) Loved the music video, and exited to see what story you will bring to the world 😃🥰
@@malenejensen02 Yess! The webcomic is still ongoing (85+ eps or so) and the feature film got the first round of funding (for the script), and I’ll be submitting for the next stage soon. I share all the process & news on my Instagram :) The comic is on a short break this month as I had to finish the script and attend a ton of pitches / conferences, but it’ll be back really soon :)

I truly believe an animated show would be the best route for this musical. It would be so hard to make it work in a stage performance when there are so many giant beings and big waves that Odysseus has to face. Something like this beautiful animation of yours would be such a treat for the whole musical.
