Oh gosh, don’t say abuse. That’s a very bad word. Don’t even go there. Hope you’re having a good day and a good training.
We can not fear words. We have to search ourselves for the actions the words point toward. There are many ways to be abusive. I do not tolerate any of them.
@ oh good I’m so glad you seem like a very happy outgoing reward based dog trainer
Just a question do you ever use the remote collar or not at all? I don’t think this dog needs it at all but it’s just a question maybe with maybe a different dog and your dog is so cute. I also have Border Collie do you think he’ll get up to 40 pounds full grown or no
To the fans of this channel, We do not try to make "perfect" videos where dogs do exactly what I want. We can make videos like that. Many trainers edit their videos to make them look good. Our goals for these videos are not to look good, it is to show that things are not always perfect, and I demonstrate my temperament as I deal with imperfect situations. I hope this helps. And thank those of you who give me free training tips. They are enjoyed and appreciated.
Sorry for only giving negative feedback, it can be demotivating. Don't take it personal, thanks for the content. I appreciate it. Keep it up, I subbed.
When you're teaching a young dog to stay, from the outset, always accompany the command with a specific hand signal every time. Soon he will learn to obey you without you saying a word, just the hand signal.✌️
Yes you can do it that way too. Lol.
Kind of baffled you didn't learn a Border collie a proper fetch at 6 months old as a dog trainer. I taught my sheltie x toypoodle at 4 months old. It's the most important to burn their puppy energy while you can chill out.
Well. Thank you. We all have an idea of what we want. You don't know how I set or judge criteria! Thank you for the comment. I hope you liked the video.
My comment was kind of harsh, i kind of assume everyone on the internet has thick skin, but even then every dog is unique and I don't know your personal situation. I respect it a lot you didn't delete my comments. Have a nice day! 🐕
3:48 Let the dog focus on getting down the ladder, instead of having to focus on the food *while* trying to get down a ladder with 4 legs..
Another tip! Thank you! Great advice.
3:44 This is bad. You shouldnt lure dogs into something stressful, they can quickly lose food motivation if you do this a lot. Better use a leash for agility things they find stressful or scary, you can see the dog stopping to follow the lure, which is never what you want when food luring.
Does he look stressed or scared? He does stop, I do not agree that stopping is bad. Essentially when we consider the difficulty of the task. Love your tips. Always remember there are many ways to do a thing. Your way and my way do not have to be exactly the same.
@@ArgosDogTraining Thanks for the reply. You're right. Theres more than one proper way. I just think it's a lot better for training to only use food luring to teach new commands, to make it easier for the dog, and if the dog knows what's expected, do it without food lure.
I have the same schedule with my sheltidoodle pup. <3
Dogs and trains!
It has to be emoji now he wont do it.
Yes, working dogs do need to be healthy but a lot of the working dog farms around here don’t do a lot of the health tests. They just assume their dogs are healthy, but I’m so glad yours does all the eyes and the hips and the elbows and the heart and I believe now there is an epilepsytest. You’re lucky to have a wonderful breeder. Thanks again for your RUclips.
🖤🤍🖤🤍
Great video!
Oh, I’m not worried I just wondered what your training method was. That’s all so I guess when he goes on the Matt, he’s supposed to stay there and you don’t have to say stay.
All this was very good. I’m hoping not too many people get them from the pet store our puppy mills anymore. I like people when they rescue dogs from a shelter and if they do get a pure dog I think the breeder should do every health check they can do and I hope youra did Also there are hips, elbows, eyes hearts, there’s even the test for epilepsy. Border Collie could have epilepsy really bad so I’m hoping your breeder did all these Your pup is a very nice pup And I wish you all the luck and mostly health with him Love watching your RUclips’s I wish there was more of them
Yeao they sure did do all the text. They breed working dogs. Working dogs have to be healthy to work.
And thank you for your comment. I
So does he have a stay or when you put him on the table? He’s supposed to stay there some trainers have a stay and some trainers use the table and when they get on there, they’re supposed to stay there no matter what without any words to tell them to stay.
He is supposed to stay. Don't worry he does it most of the time.
It supposed to do whatever your expectation of your dog is.
Yes, that’s true but if the dogs is young, it’s just learning so we shouldn’t push
@@watchmoivies123 I can push a lot harder, and sometimes I do. There is a lot of distance between what you see here and abuse. Abuse is a problem, but firm techniques are not.
Sol has a beautiful face

I train all my Dobermans to muzzle its for protection when out in and about in crowded places
Even if my Dobermans have perfect temperaments for this breed I have. MUZZLE up people
Wow…If only this worked…..

4:50 so what should an owner do when they start to notice their dog deciding "do i really have to do that?"
1. Be patient 2. Think it through 3. Use your training 4. Get your way/make sure the dog does it 5. Plan for next time. I am gonna do an ask Argos soon, I will include your question.
Oh great when will that be?
So just a question what would you do if you had a Border Collie over the edge and hyper and jumping up jumping up jumping up when HEELINGN nothing seems to work would you use a prong collar or a electric collar to stop that?
The short answer is no I would not use those tools for that. I will give a longer answer on our next Ask Argos.
What a sweet, sweet, sweet boy
Thank You!!!
❤😊🎉

For those who think the collar is on backward, here's what I think: ruclips.net/video/J2-ByUeB8SQ/видео.html Let me know if you agree!
Wow, you are one lucky person. All of his nails are white. A dog with black nails are really really almost impossible to quit properly. Oh, you are just so lucky.
There is a lot of stuff, agility people use for the body awareness. It is very, very safe like on the ball. Do you know the ball you could teach her to come forward and then back up you could teach her to go through the cones. There’s a lot of different body awareness things you could do but just be very careful sometimes like I said the things high up like a ladder could be dangerous. That’s all I’m a border collie, lover, and owner myself
Yes, I know other exercises can teach these things. I do those, too. I keep my dog safe. He trusts that I will catch him if he falls, I will catch him; there are no sharp edges on the ladder, so there is no danger at all. Thank you for your concern.
I would never do this with my puppy. What is the purpose?
Bonding and teaching body awareness.
OK, I love the bonding part so you’re trying to teach control when you tell her to go or get on the ladder that’s the bonding part of it? And the body awareness she’s still very young so just be very careful with the ladder ladders are really really dangerous. Why don’t you do it on the ground?
You do realize he was gonna get euthanized, right? So pitying him, he decides to adopt him and save him
sound comparison on a buckle wins it for me….haha….classic
😁😆😆😆
Nail clipping with Sol coming soon!
Good morning just meant because he’s a young puppy. His joints and tendons are not finished growing yet. That’s all I think you’re doing a great job with him.
Thank you for your concern. I completely understand.
@ OK I’m glad you do because the joints and the tendons and the bones take at least up to two years old to really form and be strong. Thanks for your tubes. I also have Border Collie.
I love it watch his little gentle growing joints
He is not a soft dog. His joints are fine.
So nice at least he’s trying very hard. My dog would be flying on it and off it and jumping over it and falling through it.
Looking GOOOOOOOOOD, Love this video! Thanks for sharing!
Yes! So happy for an update i remember when sol was a lil pup
He’s so cute! I found your video through brushing puppy teeth as i currently have a 19 week old curly coated retriever! Loving these videos, looking forward to Sols journey and getting a few tips from you! 🇬🇧

Your training technique looks great!
Thank you! I am a real professional. Training dogs for 14 years. If you like this, please subscribe to the channel. We will have a lot more to come!
Really nice tips here. I like the idea of using the other ball throw as a reward for dropping the first.
I was trying to explain to my brother that the reason I’m focused on training behaviors instead of words is because they don’t know words and it can add a lot of confusion and overstimulation when training and this was something I figured out on my own and seeing your video confirm my intuition is just amazing.
Your intuition is amazing! Please subscribe and continue to watch. I make these videos for beginner through advanced dog handlers!
Something I did with my dog and I"m so glad I did and never will not do it again, is I never said "Yes" until the dog gave the ball or whatever we are playing with to me in my hand, not dropping it on the ground. If my Boston Terrier Bruce dropped it on the ground I waited until he picked it up and handed it to me then rewarded wtih "Yes" "Treat" whatever you are doing to reinforce. This was one of the best decisions I made, as he always hands me the toy, and I can tell him to go get stuff and he hands it to me. He will also jump up so I don't have to bend over at all. I did this from an early age, because it sucks having to bend over 1000 times when playing fetch, it's better if they just bring it to your hand, and then they know exactly where to go instead of just a general area.
That's great and I am happy for you. Thank you for watching the channel. I hope that as you continue to watch you will see that ad my pup grows he masters the same skill. There are so many ways to train dogs, and the smarter the dog is the more ways there are to train them.
