Bremner Fletcher Duthie
США
Добавлен 5 янв 2007
All I ever wanted to do was sing. In New York, when I was six, walking home from school, Mom would hear me coming as I sang my way down the street. I finally started singing in public with Punk bands, then made a leap to Opera, and then to Music Theatre, Cabaret and Jazz. I’ve toured the world singing stadiums in Tokyo, State Theatres in Germany, Atelier house concerts in Paris, ex-Soviet theatres in Mongolia, and even crawled onto table-top stages in hard drinking bars along the north shore of Lake Superior to sing my heart out. I loved them all.
Here you’ll find videos from my personal obsession: the songs of Kurt Weill. You’ll find icons like Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell reinterpreted with a jazz ensemble. You’ll find my own original songs and videos from my theatrical 'New Cabaret' performances.
I'd love for you to subscribe, and make sure to hit that notification bell otherwise you won't get told about new videos! Love, Bremner

Send us a text (www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2274156/open_sms) “Let us consciously be ‘imaginary architects’! We believe that only a total revolution can guide us in our task. Our fellow citizens, even our colleagues quite rightly suspect in us the forces of revolution. Break up and undermine all former principles. Horse Shit! And we the bud in fresh dung.” So, said Weimar architect ...

Kurt Weill, Weimar Musical Revolutionary
Просмотров 446 месяцев назад
Send us a text (www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2274156/open_sms) Many years ago, I started my musical career singing, or maybe I should say screaming, with a Punk band, then eventually, through some very complicated in-between steps, I ended singing Opera, then on to musical theatre, then swinging it with jazz groups, and nowadays, mostly, I’m singing my own original songs. However thr...

Send us a text (www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2274156/open_sms) On October 29th, 1918, only a few days before the official end of WW1, in Kiel, a naval port on Germany’s northern coast, sailors in the German Imperial Navy staged a mutiny that would spark revolutions across Germany, would lead to the formation of a new state with a constitution recognizing radical new human rights, and...

Send us a text (www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2274156/open_sms) We’re going to leap into some of the fun, crazy and sometimes completely mad of the Weimar days, i.e. the wild sexual revolution that appeared in in Berlin and to a lesser degree across Germany. My big idea for this episode is that in Post-WW1 Germany, people had seen so much death, they searched for life through sex and ...

Chelsea Hotel No. 2, by Leonard Cohen, Bremner sings
Why is this cut off half-way through?
lmao, that's not Beef Steak Tartar.
Mach The Knife by the very talented Bremner Duthie. Recorded in my Paris Studio.
I love how you know he's not really a scat person but he makes it work. if only Mr big checks would do it more lol 😅
probably my fav video on youtube, dem facial expressions are thr best
pops
Is this considered dixieland?
No. This is swing in it's pure undiluted form.
It is most definitely scat, and if you don't think it is then you are bear scat.
This is some ethereal shit. It touches matters past comprehensible emotions. Scat is, in my opinion, a way of getting closer to god.
Noah Mamet You can have spiritual experiences without the use of god.
+Mike2174 And you can have them with the use of god. He can use what he wants.
Jackson S I don't like the way religion is used in music at all. As an atheist, I have the same experiences other musicians have when I play, but as an avid follower of neurosciences and as a music cognition major, I can see what happens to the brain as you listen/play music. I am not denouncing anyone's religion, I am just someone expressing my views in the RUclips comment section.
you are denouncing my religion fuck you sir

from my CD, The Sky Was Blue' -- Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground's 'Pale Blue Eyes'
Lovely
Brilliant rendition of Mack the Knife ... way to go Bremner Duthie!
It's just like Paris even though it is Toronto
facepalm*
Actually, yes it is.
thats not scatting bitch
You're a fucked up guy
Yep, you're totally right. Don't listen to the fucked up guy
Sorry for you mate, but you're totally wrong. However real beat box is much more difficult than scat.
it's where you put a couple of bears in a boxing ring and watch them box
Love Louis...great to see him as a young man.
Bear box, what's that?
Louis Armstrong, Ella fitzgerald and Scatman John together are the scat masters.
Yes this is considered as scatting , especially at some parts in which he randomly sings some words ;) sorry for my bad english btw, not really good at english tbh xD
You can find a 9:31 version of this video that includes the full version of this song (which includes a trumpet solo) and two other songs. Just search "louis armstrong 1934" and it's the first hit!
@sarahdesinga damn straight! :D Louie is the man :)
I have an essay to do on scat, and I'd love to know if this is considered like scat? :) thank you!
I have to do a speech on him and no one will no what scat singing is ! lol
this song got a name
@juicyjoe97 i though that happened for heebie jeebies though?
@mikedeezl he still is ahead...
This is the youngest Louis Armstrong I've seen. Pretty amazing.
Beat box take a seat, this is your king and origin
what does he say at 0:22, sounds like French: les gars des monts or something...
pure genius. No Louis Armstrong - No Pop, Rock or Soul Music. Period. They should add his face to Mount Rushmore.
Go Louis
everything Louis does is absolutely awesome. I'm in heaven !
yes!
this particular video of "Dinah" seems clearer and easier to see than the other ones.
What a sound... Perfect! Beautiful clip...Thanks!
Yeah! We do that here in New Orleans too ~ but we get a better turn-out ~ thousands! See my video response above.
that is on bad ass parade. wow
