Well they were always great in the trucks and until Ford dropped the 5.0 in 2011 for the Mustang, the 5.7 was a decent performer for the Challenger. They started to become underpowered with no real gain in HP all the way through 2024 models before it was discontinued, that’s why they were and currently viewed as underpowered. As a comparison, the 2011+ Mustang GT and 2010+ Camaro SS both offered more standard horsepower and both had measurable improvement in HP/TQ through 2024. RIP Camaro

U put a cam in a motor without doing head work to up the compression then u just lost more power then what it comes with from the factory. I've rebuilt racing motors for almost 20 years and my family owns a business doing it that's been operating since 1970. People say put a cam in it makes more power no it kills the power unless u give the motor more compression

Been driving the Penstar in a Charger and 2 Challengers for years now. Couple of those mods put me in 350+HP. Would love a V8 but cars still look cool and have some giddy up.🫡🫡🫡
The fact that it’s a manual is what makes it even more impressive. During the record run, Lance actually miss shifted a few times that costed him a little bit of time. It’s for sure a sub-7 minute car.
When everyone pushed past the 5.7 hp numbers, dodge left the 5.7 power levels the same.
It should have been making 570 horsepower as a race car when tuned, American card have potential, per power liter needs to be really honed in. That's why it's said to be slow.

My guy horsepower isnt the only factor you’re looking at you need stop reading brochures and googling car specs and learn about weight distribution not to mention dodge is known for having shitty internals on their entry level v8s the RT
