Yasmine Student Company began learning this choreography in January 2020, in preparation for Saffron Dance's annual June show, "Casbah."
Then COVID-19 hit, and all of our plans here at the studio were thrown into a state of uncertainty.
First, we transitioned to virtual classes, hoping that this would be a temporary solution and that all would return to normal in time for the show.
But of course, that wasn't how it turned out.
When it became clear that a June show would not be possible under the precautions of social distancing, Elena gave her students the option of filming themselves to create a video "show." Elena hated the idea of all of the students' hard work going to waste, especiall...

Admittedly I had my doubts about a belly dance to a Christmas song but this was actually a lot of fun. Loved the energy and happiness she showed on stage.
