Unfortunately it’s down until they raise the money to do the 1500 hour or whatever it is tear down & inspection. We were there for Father’s Day 2024 and missed it running by about a month 😢

You should get your attic ceilings spray foamed to help keep it cooler up there, then use a portable ac unit to keep cool

One can only hope i talked to mth a couple months ago and dropped that as a suggestion we love the 2102 we go every time it runs to ride it

Great video I remember that locomotive when I was a kid and as far as history lessons, I would love to learn about all of them. I’ll let you pick which one first diesel and steam steam trains are always going to be my favorite, but I love all of them.

@@Attictrains I think it’s not a big deal since the freight cars have couplings that open with a lever on the side or underneath. The new Shay is better in terms of detail.

Fun fact: steam engines are the ideal type of engines for the apocalypse. All you need is water (even undrinkable) and something to burn. No electricity required (theorically you could also produce electricity from it)
Thats only partially true coal burning engines some only run on certain types of coal due to the way the fire box is built it will run improperly which could cause serious damage
@@Attictrains yeah, I mean, that also is to keep into account, but I guess in some end of the world scenario the priority would be to make it work and worry about damage later (honest to God, if they start dropping bombs and I manage to survive my car better start praying, cause I'm making it run on as much ethanol as it can. If it explodes I'm strapping a donkey in front of it and turning it into a wagon). But I guess we don't need to worry about it, it's an unlikely scenario. Let's enjoy those marvels of human ingenuity

I have three units on order, 2 chessie and 1B&O. Almost two years since they announced them.
The diesels for some reason are taking longer these are from 2020
