OBDR 4 Footage

This was my first time flying the drone outside of my living room, so the camera movement was pretty jerky. But, still worth it for the scenery. This was along the OBDR4 route, mostly between US 26 and Seneca, OR.
WABDR Washouts September 2018 - Jeep JK and Trailer
Просмотров 4426 лет назад
This was us crossing the three big washouts along the WABDR Section 3 between Ellensburg and Cashmere with our JK and trailer in early September of 2018. The washouts are at about 47.297227,-120.443496 . Note that this would definitely not be possible without an articulating trailer hitch as the angles between the trailer and the jeep were severe in several areas.

MMA Garage Floor Installation
Просмотров 116 тыс.7 лет назад
This was installation of a Methyl Methacrylate flooring system in a concrete 3-car-tandem residential garage. Installation was done by Specialty Coatings of Beaverton, OR. 4-layers with full broadcast rejection flake.
Bought? Or diy'd?
DIY
Awesome. What kind of grinder they used at the end?
Five years later and this floor still looks like it did on install day. Even with three cars and a lot of shadetree mechanic-ing going on!
saludos cordiales me puedes pasar el esquema
Please 🙏 i need some information about this project if you can?
Looks amazing What product did they used?
Beutiful
This is an awesome work.
What’s MMA?
I’m guessing mix martial arts lol
Bruh I watched all of this thinking it was them transferring the garage into a MMA (mixed martial arts) gym
What kind of machine did you use about minute 7?
It's a floor sander using 80 grit sand paper.
@@rjsanders1981 Why sand after the flakes and first coat of clear coat?
@@bubthegreat1 Usually to make the floor smoother.
is mma hard to source? Expensive?
It's more expensive than epoxy or polyaspartic coatings. You can inquire about pricing from BASF if you'd like.
Yeah blow silica dust out smart one fuckin idiots
Questions: Why isn't it necessary to etch, besides diamond grinding? What was that first coat you applied?
the grinder takes off the top layer so theres nothing left to etch. etching is an alternative to grinding cut takes too long as you have to wait for it to dry plus grinding removes uneven parts. IO think this floor had a coat on already so it had to be grinded
I started grinding with a 7 inch angle grinder. That'll take forever! I'm so frustrated! Lol
Great quality 💪👌
Great job. I learned of MMA as the best product to repair cracks, much better than epoxys, polyureas or polys. What is the main goal of MMA in garage coating applications?
The main goal of the MMA coating system is to have a floor that looks new for the lifetime of the home. Also the 8 hour install time with 1 hour full cure is a great bonus.
Have to agree with the off road hitch, glad I bought the max coupler for my Teardrop. Just finished that section today (19Sep19) in my Tacoma, pulling the Teardrop.
just did this in my stock height 1st gen tacoma pulling a trailer with a ball hitch. ez pz.
I don’t think thebliked the top coat and had to rip it off with a special grinder machine it turns it into dust but btw when rolling it it’s a high gloss sealer you have to do stokes all the way down exactly like if your painting a door with semi gloss paint full strokes down to avoid getting any weird lines with lighting
Cool video! Looks pretty smooth to me.
Nice!
There is no way that the job can be done in the same day. The ideal world would be a 3 days process respecting the drying time of the epoxy along with the concrete. Wait a couple months and the epoxy will peel off.
You might want to re-read the description and other comments. This is not epoxy, it's MMA - a totally different material and process. It's been in place two years this month, with nearly year-round non-trivial hobby automotive work being done on the floor and it looks almost like the day they laid it down. Definitely zero peeling.
@@dansmith9421 Thanks for your reply Dan. What is the average cost for a 2 car garage, complete system. thanks
@@kleberoliveira1887 We charge about $1,500 per vehicle bay to install this system. So two car garage about $3k, 3 car about $4,500. It also has a lifetime warranty with one day complete install. You can drive on in same day! www.specialtycoatings.us
Great video.. but just thinking to my self ,grinding ,priming,1 coat of top coat ,2 or 3 coats of sealer ..all these done in one day 🤔 I find it hard to believe ..these products need time in between to cure peoperly
This is MMA not epoxy. It flash cures in about 45 minutes. It's almost too fast to work with.
In know (Methyl Methacrylate) very well they dry just under 2 hours to "stick to the book". The job looks good anyway . Good luck 👍
@@bakdfuqup9882 MMA fully cures in about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the air temperature and amount of activator added to it. Look into BASF MMA SRS systems and you can see for yourself. assets.master-builders-solutions.basf.com/en-us/mbs_mastertop_srs_overview_brochure.pdf
Could you help me please? Previous owner painted garage with color and H&C oil based concrete sealer. He didn’t do great job. Some areas are dry and some are wet look. It’s fairly new he did it one week before he sold house to me. No cars were driven yet. My question is: what can I do now to fix it? Could I use clear epoxy to make it more even and make more shine? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
It sounds like it needs another coat. I would apply another coat of the sealer and it should even out the sheen. Very easy to do, if questions call me at 503-626-2002.
what did that job coast?
typically it's about $1,500 per vehicle bay in the garage. So standard two car around $3,000, and 3 car around $4,500. It all depends on your square footage though.
Isn’t that shit flammable as hell? It sounds similar to a product we use on bridge decks to seal cold joints between different pours.
Not really, only if you hold a flame to it. Once cured and installed it's a 100% solid and not flammable.
@@rjsanders1981 I meant during installation, not the finished product. Obviously if the finished product was "flammable as hell" it wouldn't be allowed to be used inside inhabited structures. I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant, but I'll play and elaborate for you.
what type of grinder did you start with ?
Probably a diamond grinder
That was an HTC diamond grinder with 25 grit diamond metals.
@@rjsanders1981 what if you have a painted floor to start with. not epoxy, just regular paint. can you still grind it?
@@blyles1000 yes, paint is easier to grind off than epoxy. Both can be removed with a diamond grinder.
They did an awesome job!
Heh- But you made it!
Awesome video. Great job!. I have a couple question. Whats the working time once materials are mixed and what size notch squeege ?
Working time with MMA's are typically 15-20 minutes. Once the initiator is added you are on the clock. Depends on the system, here they are just using a gauge rake which is similar to a cam rake. I have seen some installs go in with an 1/8" notched squeegee though, just depends on the thickness you want/need.
I was the installer on this. We did not use a gauge rake, we used an 18 inch roller to spread and back roll each coat. Once you mix up the activator into the MMA material you have about 10 minutes to get it down and spread out. It will fully cure in about 25-30 minutes depending on the temperature.
How much does something like this cost
This was a 3-car garage and it cost a little over $4k. That was by far the most expensive bid I got, but this is special stuff (MMA). I got epoxy and polyaspartic bids ranging from about $2.2K to $3.8k. None of those were going to be this many layers, thickness, nor warranted to this level.
Good question
Cost is based regional surroundings.... I have a 2 car, 24'x24' (575 sq ft) and the cost was 3K for North GA. Job was done exactly like video. WORTH EVERY CENT!
in GA that is a good deal!
We charge about $1,500 per vehicle bay to install this system. So two car garage about $3k, 3 car about $4,500. It also has a lifetime warranty with one day complete install. You can drive on in same day!
