Would this be good for May in the Lake District (assume 3-5 over night)? Just wondered as you have done everything I was considering. Working out Semi Standard vs NXT … thank you for an excellent video.

@@MrJezster I would definitely say so, usually come may I tend to drop the down booties as we’d generally expect warmer temperatures. But in terms of the quilt absolutely! . I’ve been using a Mountain Equipment Glacier 750 which has a comfort of -15c and I’d say this Ice flame is easily on par with that. With the added option of course of opening up the quilt when the weather gets a little warmer. I’d say it’s suited for spring, autumn and winter but personally is a little too warm for me in summer . I hope that helps 😊 and enjoy!

@ perfect. No need to spend on the NXT or higher then. Do you have a product link please - sorry to be a pain. 😊😊

@@MrJezster absolutely! I have spoken with iceflame directly and the difference between the standard mono with the additional 200g and the NXT is very very minimal.

That should do it, I’m 5,11 and opted the for large, it comes up to just below my nose which is perfect and I’d suggest opting for the additional 200g, iceflame are extremely accommodating so if you need any adjustments just drop them a message as they are happy to help 😊

thanks mate, just what i was looking for. contemplating the 100g or 200g overfill.. hmm

I’d say for the the 200g, adds a lot more loft for not much weight, also it allows the quilt to stretch to four seasons with a liner and some warmer clothing 😊

Thank you this review! We have this tent (& the Mountain Hardware Alcove 3) & found the seam tape had yellowed & crackled. Would you retape or just seam seal? In the process of removing the old tape, cleaning & re-waterproofing because everything else is in perfect condition. Just astounded with the quality of this tent vs newer ones. It also seems to be bigger than modern 3 person tents. Can you please post an update review of how it handled snow?

@@meTWO2323 that’s amazing! Personally I’d reseal as retaking can be a little difficult to get right. But once resealed there should be no problems! And I certainly will do, it’s coming with me on a couple of upcoming mountaineering trips so we shall see how it fairs but I’m very hopeful .
