Reachin' Reverie
США
Добавлен 4 апр 2020
Hello, I'm Alex. My family has a dream to start a homestead that brings us closer to being more self sustainable and healthier. We are renting a house in the middle of town, but that hasn't stopped us from pursuing our dream. While we save up enough money to buy our own home where we can really lay down some roots, we have already started our adventure by bringing home some chickens and starting a garden. Life is good, let's make it even better. Reverie is a dreamlike state, or loosely nostalgia. We are reachin' for our dreams so that one day we can look back in reverie at the life we built. We will never stop reaching for it. Visit our journey.
It is never too soon to work for the things you are passionate about, despite where you are on your path in life. Get started and maybe start small, but as long as there is progress you will get there. Let's GO!

Breaking Ground to Start on Homestead Structures! | Reachin' Reverie
You guys are just doing amazingly great on this project! So proud of you!
Pretty sky
Wow! You learned a lot on this mistake so it’s all good! I have some mesquite flour I’ll give to you. It’s certainly not like the bag of flour you gave me! But it’s still yours!
I’m so happy for you!
That looks fantastic, you even painted it
Love your “ol ladies”. And loves Scoops as you know!!! Things are looking great! Can’t wait to see all the changes to the property and shop!
So I have those exact lights. Trust me in that you will want more lights in that space for a shop.
You got that lift for $100? That’s fantastic!
thank you for this video i watched the whole thing
Oh hey
Oh the 5 gallon bucket chairs… brings back memories of house renovations with my dad. Can I make a suggestion? More lights for the shop. I would put in 6 lights or have strip lights. The more light the better in work spaces.
You guys get so much done!!!!
Girl - you need some knee pads!!!
I loved that quick little smooch at the top of the ladders!! You guys make a great treat!❤
#trumpdebatechallenge
Just a bit of lingo. When talking about vertical leveling it’s called plumb.
You should set up a trail cam to see what’s coming through your property.
Great job by all! Since this was over two days, maybe you should have considered making it into two shorter videos in order to get more views.
Thanks! I am trying to make my videos shorter moving forward, but I never can tell how long they will trim down to after editing haha
Just love seeing how you guys are progressing! You’re really knocking it out of the park!
The bee found one way to get rid of squatters.
You guys are really knocking it out of the park! What’s the size of the shop?
Thank you CC! The shop is a 16'X24' with an 8'X8' bathroom added onto the back.
Great progress! The concrete mixing is satisfying, ASMR-material right there haha. And the bee carrying away the ant was really cool. It's awesome to catch those moments in nature that go unseen in everyday life: it proves that you will truly enjoy everything about living out there.
@@JeanetteOwO Thank you!! And it is so satisfying!! There is so much beauty all around us!
Is your landlord mitigating the mold problem? If not, she needs to now. That is not something she should leave till you move out.
@@aloras405 she fixed the leak and left a hole open in the side of the house to let it air out. Josh and I have been spraying diluted bleach water anywhere we have seen mold. We are eager to get out! I think the main repairs will be hard to do in a furnished and lived-in unit. I hope they get addressed!
Anyone with a garden should have dirty hands. No need to apologize for finger color.
I used to make butter as a kid with my grandparents. They had a butter jar with paddle, you see them sometimes at antique stores, and I’d sit there and just crank away!
@@cckrull8147 I've seen those!! And since this video, I have learned the extra step of rinsing the butter to help it last longer!! Butter is a workout, but so rewarding!!
You do an awesome job on your live updates! Great job!
Since 1903? Not anymore
Love it!❤
@@cckrull8147 thank you CC!!
That vacuum trick was brilliant! I’ll keep that in mind next time we need to run electrical conduit. Thank you! My dad usually ran the wire through the pipe before he even put the pipe in the ground but the time or two he forgot was a pain to run.
So exciting for you both. What fun and amazing feeling of accomplishment creating and building your home from grown up! We are so proud of you both!
It seems like it won’t be long till you can begin staying at your new property! I’m so happy for you!
I love the happy sounds they make and as to the little chicks they were adorable.
Hi your hens are definitely very proactive jumping up to get bugs from the bush like that it's kind of cute and funny. I'm from Ireland and from a farming background we had hens I never noticed them doing that but they might have done.there were hedges near the house they definitely would have gone under.
Exhaust fans
My chicken coop is a little smaller than yours. I decided to put cardboard down on top of the bedding and it’s so easy in the morning to scrape off the poop and the coop is quickly cleaned for the next evening. It also saves using more bedding. My chickens are happy with it and so am I. 😊🐓
She needs a little bigger hat , so small it looks like a beanie ! 😄
My question is if we can’t feed them corn and scratch greens what else can we feed them I know what I’m seeing you’re feeding them fruits and stuff but I mean like in from the store what do I buy in a bag would it be Lare pellets because it’s only me so I can’t feed them a bunch of scraps all the time
@@brokenh8911pthere are a lot of different ways to manage your flock and it really comes down to what is best for your routine, if your chickens are all hens,, a mixed flock,, or meat birds, and then you have to consider your budget. With my current set up and season in life, I am feeding my girls layer pellets as their primary feed and giving them kitchen scraps whenever available. I cook most meals from scratch so they end up getting quite a bit of odds and ends. Chickens can eat a wide variety of foods. I never give them raw potatoes, uncooked beans, or any sweets besides fruits. Other than that, they get all of my food waste as long as it hasn't spoilt.
@@reachinreverie thank you so much I have three leg horns and they are so spoiled and I have been doing what you have texted me and they are the happiest chickens ever thank you so much for me and helping me with my hens
❤ hello Bobbi here from Illinois thank you I’m so glad I stumbled across your page because I have three leghorns I’ve been watching numerous videos where people are spraying their chickens and I never as a child growing up seen my dad sprayed his chickens I will continue watching your channel cause I don’t wanna kill my chickens thank you so much❤❤
How Is your coop hooked to the pin. We are trying to do something like that with our coop
In this video, the. Chicken run is wrapped in chicken wire. Then I cut a hole in the chicken wire where the coop door is and then stapled the opening chicken wire to the coop.
This is a wonderful property! Congratulations Darlin!
Could you give the name of the powder you use from Tractor Supply they have a lot listed on the internet?
This is it! Evie is so dear.
Ok...I've enjoyed seeing your growing zone plant variety. I garden in Middle TN. I am growing pink brandywine tomatoes, they have potato type leaves.
I bet your pink brandywine are lovely! I grow at least one yellow or red every year. This plant variety hasn't grown super well for me, they are always one of the first to die on me, but their fruit are too good that I just keep trying 😅
@@reachinreverie Me too...I just keep trying!
Oh! I need a whip tail lizard ! I have a terrible pill bug infestation too. But alas I don't live in it's desert habitat. And upon reading about them I learned that it's an all female species...That's cool. Your garden looks very nice =) The olive trees are lovely too. I should have waited to comment but that pony plant is really neat!
That is really neat! I didn't know they were all female! They are cute lizards and do really well in this area. We have several varieties that live in this area. I think this one is a Texas spotted whiptail. My other favorites have to be the big bend spotted whiptail, closely followed by the Chihuahuan spotted whiptail.
Welcome back!
Thank you!!
❤
Thank you for this video. I’m thinking about moving to El Paso. I have a German shepherd and having a dog park near by is very important to us. Love the whole scene 😊❤️

This wasn’t relaxing to my dog at all, he started barking and whining at the tv screen, he chases chickens normally that’s why
