Perspective Shader + Sword Spin Attack
A really hastily thrown together showcase of using the perspective shader I wrote to make weapons pop out more in animations. This won't be the final version of this animation, I threw it together in a few minutes and it's over-exaggerated to help show off the shader's effect. But I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out so far. While not completely finished feature-wise, I did figure out solutions to all the remaining bugs I had. So it's now available for free at this repository:

Been working on building up my own graph rewriting library from scratch, finally got to a point where I could define a set of rules and rulesets to use all in text files that are then parsed and used to create graphs in the Godot editor. Another Improved Non-Pixel-Perfect Tilemap Rendering Example

Left is no shader, right is with shader. In order to better demonstrate what's happening, I first rendered the tilemap to a subviewport with a scale of 2. This means that for every pixel of the tilemap, it's rendered to a 2x2 quad of pixels in the subviewport. I then scale that subviewport up and record it, which allows visualizing the artifacts that happen when rendering the tilemap much clearer.

Nothing crazy, and still WIP. TLDR: Tilemaps are great, but they have some really annoying visual issues when used in games that don't have pixel-perfect alignment. I want my camera motion to be able to change speeds and zoom levels, so I've been working on a custom rendering method for tilemaps to fix the aforementioned visual issues.

    This is amazing, i need to rework my dungeon generation to something that gives me some more freedom because sometimes monsters and others dont have space to spawn thus making density very inconsistent. Im just using a random walker, but i may need to switch to a graph system like this.

      The graph approach has been a lot of work so far, but that may be because of my particular requirements for it. Definitely worth considering though. You might be able to just get away with some constraints on how you currently generate rooms though, something like either checking for the existence of an area at least X by Y tiles within the room, retrying/continuing to build the room if none exists. Or pre-seeding the room with a patch of tiles before running whatever room generation algorithm you have.

      I'm only doing rectangular rooms as well right now. My next major step will be more varied room types, but I need to do a rewrite of how I handle collision detection first.

    I was surprised to see no comments- I found this video very informative. Various forums seem to recommend your first option, and I hadn't seen preprocessing shader files before as a suggestion. Makes me wonder about an addon to convert gdshaders to what you called "shader include files"- then a shader which takes them as inputs. Great Video!

      100 resilience and 3 resist mods on chest that match the damage I'll be taking in the specific encounter. Pair that with restoration x2 from solar warlock.

      I'd share a lot more of my failures if I had the hard drive space for some of the things I do, but on stuff like the solo GM runs some of those can take me 10+ hours of attempting and I just end up with so much unorganized footage eating up disk space that I usually trash them. That and the deaths are a lot less interesting/able to teach any lessons. Still, I probably should find a better way of tagging/sorting footage as I record so I can do more of these anyways, it helps show that for every successful vid someone puts up on RUclips, behind the scenes are a lot of clumsy mistakes and bad luck.

    I’ve been trying to solo this dungeon for a week now and failed thus far. I agree with everything you’ve said in the description and this dungeon could definitely use some tweaks. Coming from an average pve player the boss hp and amount of ads are extremely overwhelming for a solo run. Especially the amount of damage the moths do, it’s so easy to be caught off guard by them. Congrats on your solo flawless, I’m going to attempt to use the same build. Wish me luck.

      Moths are really quite frustrating. Despite the double special fix this season should still be a good one for doing the solo w/ monochromatic on the artifact, especially if you use something like Briar's Contempt for the final boss. Just make sure you're at the max light level advantage you can have, 1830 iirc, I wasn't in this video and it definitely does make things a bit harder. I hope you were able to get your clear.

    After this I went to test the only other alternatives that remained, the amplified damage resist works but just a bit more, and riskrunner arc conductor is the only one that gives any decent amount of resist against this. And the amplified one is going away with the seasonal mods.

      From what I understand and what seems to be the community consensus, breaking her shield INSTANTLY upon dps starting is what keeps her from teleporting. Basically, you have to have arbalest in-hand and ready to shoot the moment you do the last deposit. I can't say with 100% certainty that this is the reason why, but that seems to be the best guess I and others have come up with and it seems fairly consistent.
