JPS - insomnia filled evening full of stalking the interwebs for old videos from the collegiate years (IE masochistic cringe-fest) and came across this gem. I'll never forget your contributions to the Denver music community - but upon reflection, and truly surpassingly, I wanted to acknowledge your unwavering and outspoken enthusiasm for life. What stands out in my memory the most was a song you performed in the King Center Recital Hall (oh, the musical atrocities attempted in that sacred place) - wherein you spoke of your life before UCD, which was vague - but the allusions were soul piercing and powerful. The stories you told, though mostly unspoken, were hauntingly beautiful and inspirational. From that day forward I developed an adoration and respect that is unwavering. Now, while listening to the song, I will think exactly about your small theater of the absurd: a man who almost goes mad after he realized that all his life he had gone his own way. But he finds the strength to admit to himself that he was just floating with the flow of his life and in fact all these expensive cars, big cigars, etc., would not make him happy. It's just a mirage in the middle of the desert: an oasis in which there is no water.
