The motor drives a rasper for mashing potatos in a starch factory. The rotor of the rasper has a diameter of 1200mm, a width of 500mm, weighs 600kg, spins at 4000rpm (faster then the motor) and is driven by 8 parallel belts. No where near as good sounding as a star delta starter. We've a huge wood chipper at work, 400 hp and it starts on a star delta starter, honest to god it sounds like a jet plane taking off. A good sound yes , but a star delta starter beats that hands down .

It’s not a Softstart, it’s driven with a frequency converter. Nice Camera-Dropout in the beginning, caused by the Vormagnetisierung 🇩🇪 (Maybe premagnetization in English)
