Kashmir is Aryan Central Asia and all genuine Kashmiri Muslims are converts from Kashmiri Hindus thus no difference between the two. Islam is a great religion but some uneducated Kashmiri Muslims are insecure and want to get rid of their rich cultural past. Things such as Saffron, Santoor, Wazvan, architecture are fictitiously claimed to have come from outside. Also the architecture of Kashmir as Cunningham mentions is of the indigenous Aryan order. In fact I was posted in Kashmir and there is no evidence that Alexander ever was in the Kashmir Valley. No mention of him in the credible Rajataringini. When Porus fought Alexander the genuine outcome of this battle is not known what is known that Alexander withdrew. Alexander was in no part of India which is of now. The Greeks are unheard in the ancient genuine history of Kashmir and the Romans are a howler of the century.

I lived in Kashmir Valley thus know her. The Mughals under Emperor Akbar with a huge army were defeated by a tiny Kashmiri army led by Yusuf Shah Chak. Akbar entered Kashmir by deceit and the Mughals never got peace in Kashmir. Read Abu-Fazl. Kashmir is technically Central Asia and Kashmiri a Dardic-Aryan language is linked to the proto-Aryan language from which the twins Sanskrit-Avestan arose. Kashmiri has picked up few Semitic words due to Semitic Islam.
