This is the first step towards our goal of a full revival.
The show was part of the festivities taking place during the Raggedy Ann Rally in Arcola, Illinois, a yearly get-together of Raggedy Ann fans that has been gathering since 1989. The organizers are very...

    Les Tremayne does such a good job in the special and people don’t know that he was actually British this is probably the closest you have a got to use his natural accent in role

    You know I think Raggedy Ann and Andy teach diversity, Belindy was black American, Uncle Clem was Scottish and Henny was Dutch, I like the fact that toys/children's characters are diverse because children have friends that are different and so do some adults but do they mind? No, because differences do not matter.

    • @raggedyannrevivaleffort
      @raggedyannrevivaleffort 3 месяца назад

      Lots of work done by lots of dedicated people! 1) research. The sheet music for the production wasn't available for purchase, so it involved contacting multiple different archives and the composer's family to build a use-able connection. 2) legal approval. contacting the composer's family to obtain permission to perform the songs. 3) composing. cleaning up the sheet music and making new arrangements that could be performed by our single pianist and limited cast 4) producing. calling around to find a good venue and work out a time. making sure we had all the performers in place and able to make it. hiring the pianist. crowdfunding to pay for both the venue and the accompanist. 5) rehearsals. printing out scripts and sheet music. making sure everyone knew what the plan was 6) advertising! so people knew to show up! getting flyers and programs printed 7) actually doing it! arriving at the venue, figuring out the sound setup and seating. rehearsing a couple times. telling the ushers what to do. and just knowing that we had everything preparing us for that moment so we could just go for it.

      @@raggedyannrevivaleffort I think you’ve inspired me to you the same. What do you think of a small concert for Disney’s Der Glöckner von Notre Dame?

    • @raggedyannrevivaleffort
      @raggedyannrevivaleffort 3 месяца назад

      @@creativepuppetry1366 It's definitely worth a try! Though you may have some issues with the licensing concerning Disney. We were able to produce the Rag Dolly concert with approval because the rights were never bought by a larger company after the initial contract ran out. By all accounts we could dig up, the abandoned rights returned solely to the family of the artists. That makes them a lot easier to work with than a larger company like Disney.
